super famicom / bung Game Doctor SF III questions - The ASSEMblergames.com

heard we have a copier expert here, so hopefully someone can give me a hand with this:

a couple weeks ago, I got from the flea market a Super Famicom, with a Game Doctor SF III, with one floppy disk in it, and no other carts or anything. it came with a funky power cord that looks like the normal SNES power brick, but splits off into 2 plugs, one for the copier and one for the superfami.. im not sure if its actually the right adapter or not, the sticker says its a 'MULTI DRIVE POWER - Suitable for all SF DISK DRIVE, MGD2, MGH, U.F.O..." AC 220, output DC10-12V (doh! just occurred to me, this is probably the problem right here.. i need an AC120/DC10 brick probably eh?) ... uhm so anyway when i rig it all up, using a standard nintendo ntsc AV cable, all i get onscreen is some rolling garbage.. the power lights are on, on both, but nothin good is happenin.

I'm gonna try it again now with 120V powercords and see if that helps, but also i was wonderin, does anyone here know if i need to have cart in for the gamedoctor to work, and/or is there a menu screen at power-up, or do i have to do a special keypress on the controller or something? any help would be appreciated!

You recieved a PAL Super Famicom (probably Hong Kong model) and the power supply is 220v. I don't know what to say about the SFC, theres nothing you can do but for the power supply, just use two Sega Genesis supplies, one for the SFIII other for SFC. You don't need a cart in Doctor to work, hold down R on powerup to get a menu.

ah that makes sense, the video i get when i hook it up has the good ol fasioned pal vhold roll that i used to get from my amiga before i learned how to switch it to 50hz.. shame i dont have the 1084 monitor anymore or i'd still be in business... i'll have to keep my eye out for one at the flea market.

(i notice you're in oaktown.. ever hit up the laney flea market? that's where i got it)

I stumbled upon a doctor SF7 128MB with a SFC unit and it includes the bung cd drive add on, the owner generously gave me 5 DVD discs with 4000 Snes SFC rom images too, not bad deal i say

i also found there once, what appears to be part of a famicom Turbo GD6+ copier.. it came with the cartslot connector brick for the famicom disk system attached to it, but no actual drives for either.. i dont have an actual famicom to try it out in, and it doesnt quite fit in any of my famiclones.

coliseum swap meet can be ok too, but i can only handle that one maybe once every six months or so (same with san jose).

What do you mean you have part of a TGD6+? I could always use another one if you don't want it. Due to the nature of them, without premade games, they're useless.I know of two people that know how to create disks for FC copiers, I'm one of them :)
