Gameboy5 Jetforce Gemini by Rareware on Gameboy?

Hi all,

I recently got a cart for the gameboy colour, it appears to contain Jetforce Gemini by Rareware, when you load the cart it says on the main menu screen at the top Cheat Version 2.3

As far as i can tell, Jetforce Gemini only existed on the N64??

I seem to find very little relating to the Gameboy, so i can only assume this was a development / port of the N64 title over to the gameboy that never made it?

Anyone have any info on this or can confirm my theory?

Unless ive missed the obvious, this doesn't exist and there is very little related to a gameboy build.

Thanks all.

UPDATE: Pictures of the game running below.

Have you played it yet?

Even if it isn't playable, it could still have been made for use with the Transfer Pak.

Hi,

What do you mean by made for use with the transfer pack? I assume you are relating to the N64 here?

To be honest i didn't spend much time with it, i simply fired it up and logged what it said and turned it off. If i get abit of time i'll have a look and see what it looks like.

For all i know it could be a completely different game but with the same name... Which would indeed be odd, but may explain why it could have been dropped.

Difficult to find anything with this name on the gameboy though!

Thanks.

I never heard of it being developed for the Gameboy. This is VERY Interesting indeed! I am a huge JFG fan, if you could take some pictures and screen shots that would be amazing.

Well assuming it doesn't turn out to be a different game than the N64 version, this is the title it gives when you load the game.

Sadly i don't ever recall playing this on the N64 so i wouldn't have much of a clue if its the same as the N64 one.

I'll attempt to get some pictures of the game running soon and post them up so people can see what they think.

Whatever it is, i seem unable to find any info related to it.

Exactly, while not usual, Rare being so close to Ninty could have made a GB cart which would be used as an expansion for the N64 game, demonstrating it's usefulness. Perhaps just as a showcase for some games convention?

Ok, well i have done abit more research and found the inital characters name to be 'Juno' which does seem to tie in rather well with the N64 version.

I still seem unable to find anything relating to this ever being produced for the gameboy colour, so i'll take a random guess it was simply canned for whatever reason but wasn't spoken about?

Heres some pictures i have managed to take. Also please excuse the marks on the screen, i didn't think there was any bad ones untill they shown up under the flash.

I may try and get some pictures at a later date if anyone wishes to see them.

All the above photos are very much at the begining of the game, though its not exactlly my type of game so i'll probably not play much of it.

It does seem somewhere complete with working menus etc so far though.

Anyone care to shed any light on this?

Thanks all.

Wow, that is amazing. I've never heard of it before. Didn't really like JFG on the N64 (apart from the neat feature of playing games within the game) so I wasn't on the lookout for ports, but this is still fantastic, to discover this unknown game.

Yeah i'm quite impressed with this find so far, probably one of the best finds i have come accross yet in terms of games.

No matter how hard ive searched or people i have talked to, no one seems to know anything about this game ever been in development for the gameboy.

So at this moment in time i can only assume this is the only known copy that exists!

well that would fit to the way Rare went that time.
There is also a GBC Game of Perfect Dark.
Unfortunatly the Gamboy Titles where never as good as the Big Titels on the N64.
You are from the UK... Seems you got something from Twycross there ;)
Dump it and made for all a nice Christmas Present :)

Yeah its quite understandable the gameboy titles weren't of the same standards of the bigger consoles as power wise they aren't in the same leauge.

Sadly for you, i won't be dumping the cart, however i will probably sell it on in the future.

So this is a single cart with this game, right? Any chance of pics of the cart then? :) Curious if by any chance it's some odd pirated game. You never know...

Awesome. That's quite an incredible thing to find

Does the game have any music or sound effects?

Amazing find! I do hope you change your mind about dumping it though. I'd dump it just as a precaution. To preserve the game & all. Awesome find nonetheless :)
