Early Chrono Trigger footage
Found this little presentation video sequence while going through lots of tapes with various footage from different festivals and events.
It shows a different world map style, air traffic and various other details not found in the final game.

:oh: Oh wow! THIS IS JUST GREAT!!!! (And I never use all Caps!) I have never seen this footage ever. It appears to be very early into the development of the game as well... Oh wow wow wow! Sorry, but I am a sucker for Protos/Betas, and this is one of my favorite games of all time!

I can confirm that it's not the known preview version. Shame the uploader cut the video right before Toriyama-sensei joined.

Without sitting at home where I have the full video encoded, I can say that I'm almost entirely certain that the parts with Toriyama there is not related to the Chrono Trigger part, but another special treat Toriyama's been involved in.
(Heck, pretty much everything on these festival tapes is somehow directly related to him)

However, I'll be uploading the full length tapes later, I just need to probably cut out about 15min of each one, as I guess those specific 15min are what's making Google Video reject the full length videos when I try to upload them.

They're from V-Jump.

Stuff like this is featured on each tape. Which is why I guess my uploads got rejected on Google Video.
(So those will have to go. Guess they'll be tracker feed as soon as I have a dedicated translator(s) onboard to handle a little bit of subtitling).


I'll see if I can index all of the tapes when I get home this weekend.

heh. I got that anime thingy, pretty good. I wish they would have made more of them then that episode. Think I also have the manga some where.

A manga?:oh: If you have a Chrono Trigger manga made by Toriyama, then you own a really rare piece since I've never heard of an official manga.
@Carnivol Toriyama is the guy with the pink shirt that appears in the last frame so he could actually be in the end of that particular video.

Well I don't own the print but a scanned version on my drive.

edit: and I'm not really sure who made. but I'm like 99.99999% it's official atleast.

edit2: after some fast research it seems like it actually was part of a guide book named "Chrono Trigger: The Perfect". even managed to find the scanned version on a site: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term...nglish%29.html

Copied the encodings of all the tapes over to my laptop while I was home. (That's how much time I had)

I'll see if I can get around to it after work or something. (Unless co-workers are evil creatures that for some reason wants to steal my time off, just 'cause it's "my day". Then it'll have to wait a day extra)
