And believe me, I personally would've walked out the first day, but my dad made me work all summer, he wanted me to also get used to this "real world" where people don't even follow simple child labour laws... And yes, I would do research, like I said, I have IDA Pro at the ready, etc... ServiceGames, someday I do hope to be in the position to do that, but it's not exactly easy for a highschool sophomore in a lower class family to do that right now. Believe me, I am not asking for a handout so that I have a new game to play, that couldn't be farther from the truth, I just wish that more things would reach the public is all, I know there are plenty of things rotting in basements, closets, etc.. even as we speak..erm type...
I hate to take things out of context, but you got sorely ripped off. $15 a week?!? You get more than that in a day at McDonalds.

Bullshit he got paid $15 per week. You get more then that looking for pennies on the street.

He worked 8 hours a day so for 5 days thats 37 cents per hour or something & not a single tip? Why would you carry on working there or why your father make you is beyond anything anyone is going to believe there. Might of as well got your self fired instead if it was a shitty job you dint want to do but no need to make crap up. Sob story or no sob story no ones going to give you anything for it.

My dad was the maintenance supervisor there, so he wanted me to work somewhere that he went everyday. The situation was this: I started working from the beginning of the summer, when I was 15, so they couldn't legally hire me, but one of the conditions of my working there was that on my 16 birthday I would get the official position, with the $8.50 an hour paycheck. Whether on purpose or just a coincidence, they apparently passed a rule that, even if it is in a different department, family members couldn't be hired. This wasn't a rule before, in fact, half of the front desk ladies were related. I was so pissed, but my dad kept insisting that I do it for the experience of working, although I doubt any employer in this world would do something so despicable. And no, I'm not expecting you to feel sorry for me and give me things, I'm just explaining my economic position and why I can't just buy things yet. As for tips, I wasn't the only one working the beach, and they usually went behind my back and got the tips from the front desk and never split them with me. Regardless of that though, most of these people were rich, mean people who thought that harsh criticism of the employees was a much better tip.

They're screwing you over, possibly they are doing it to your dad unless there are other reasons.

Still, just because you get screwed in the real world doesn't mean you should project the notion of screwing people for things they worked hard for...

So my current Seagate 500GB HDD is going bad even though it is less than 6 months old and was infact an RMA replacement for a year old drive which failed in October/November last year.

Time to backup as much as i can onto an older IDE drive and then set up an RMA with seagate (Agian).

Let this be a reminder to all you cheap bastards than Windows 7 RC7100 will be expiring March 1st cometh. I know because I have just purchased a copy of ultimate edition and will have to install within 10 days - something I can't be bothered with really but you know how it goes.

Loving fedora 12 at the moment.

How come any sort of linux has never worked this easy for me?? had problems before getting any internet so couldn't do much but so far just using the live CD i have has been fantastic.

Wifi networked connected straight away after logging in and selecting my network without ndiswrapper or whatever, got sound just fine and can do almost everything i done before with XP.

NOw once i get my SATA HDD back i can test it to make sure it is IDE drives which are playing up then i might do a proper dual boot of fedora and win 7 just so i can game and stuff on win 7 and then if i need quick and easy access to internet when startring my comp i can boot into linux plus it isn't that system intensive.

Oh no, I'm quite good at poker. It's the testing and testing and more testing (see here) that is dragging me into the depths of hell...

Who knew that a blackberry, home wifi and a police/fire scanner app could be soo much fun. Been listening to some Chicago police radio for the last 20 minutes and there is quite a lot going on although not too much of it is interesting stuff.

QUICK RANT I hate everyone on places like gumtree or even in shops like Cash Converters that list PC's as Gaming PC's when they are not.

Those who list 1GB ddr/ddr2 ram, pentium 4's and like 256mb (ddr2)graphics cards (from a few years back) as gaming PC's really annoy the crap outta me.

I have a dual core, 256MB ddr3 graphics card, 2GB DDR2-800 ram....etc system and i don't call mine a gaming machine despite the fact i can play many mainstream games from the last few years with medium settings at 1280x1024.

The following is fine example of what is right to be classed as a gaming machine.
    500GB Hdd, 4gb Ddr3 Ram, Nvidia Gtx260 Oc, Intel Core i5

    Have to say this....

The 360 "scene" needs to get over itself. Every single thing always turns into a constant bitchfest no matter where you are, or what the thread is about. Instead of working together and getting nice things put out, things get made, stuffed away, never announced. THEN when someone else makes the same thing and releases it people come in "I DID IT BEFORE YOU CREDIT ME EVEN THOUGH I NEVER HELPED AND NEVER RELEASED".

Seriously... get over yourselves, get information out there, help the people with questions. Is it so hard to be civil?

Things are a little different with curent gen systems than anything else. Things are kept secret for a good reason.

"A good reason" being so the few who have the information can keep whatever it is for them selfs because your scared MS will close your loopholes.

Thats fine if you wish to do that so be it as its your information. However do it somewhere else and do not let that spill over here. The so called "i know something you don't know" club isn't welcome here.

Everyone is a member of that 'club'. I advise you get over other people knowing stuff you don't. If you want to know something, start researching. Complaining that others know stuff and won't share is childish. You aren't entitled to a damn thing.

I think it is more about bragging about something you know that others don't

Theres nothing wrong with it but what is wrong is coming to an open discussion and posting "i know all about this but im not telling none of you". It serves no purpose and if everyone had that attitude there wouldn't be a forum.

I have no problem with you if you don't want to help and share knowledge but if you don't then theres no reason to post.
