**The following is not meant with any malice or ill intent**

Parris is taking a few things way to personally for his own good. I think he has read far to far into a few things that were commented on and also a few things that were glossed over completely.

I'd also like to say that this is ASSEMblergames and largely it has gone unchanged for quite some years. Sure there have been format changes and new additions, but despite those who come and go, there are those of us who seem to always be here. We like it here so if you don't then try finding a site that better suits your views or start your own with the rule sets and controls that you wish.

The site does not need to change.

We do not need to start being more inclusive.
This is a community for hardware and software development discussion. The social bords have developed in time, but at it's core this is still meant to be a place where like minded game development enthusiasts, be they professional or hobbyists can get together and discuss their field of interest.

If you have a question about something related to a field that you are not at the top of, just ask it in a respectable manner in the correct forum and it will be responded to by those that do.

If you feel that you have been slighted or spoken to harshly. First off re-read the post that offended you. Re-read it again. Now realize that although there are flame wars and arguements, sometimes a person will make a quick or otherwise improperly worded post that you JUST MIGHT misinterperit.

No, I completely understand what you wrote. No worries there, WDK ;-)

I was talking about what Parris wrote. It's like something big happened, and I missed it. I read through his post trying to find a specific reason for it, but didn't see it anywhere.

I think that this is a key point - sometimes comments may come across as brusque, when they probably weren't intended in that way. Many an internet flame war has sprung from relatively innocent roots. When I write, I try real hard to make it as precise as possible & limit anyway it could be taken the wrong way - when I read, I try real hard not to read too much into a statement. I still manage to screw up on both counts, though...

After several rather in-depth PM's, which I honestly think were pretty frank exchanges of our views. Assembler and I have reached an amicable agreement. My views are pretty in-grained. Sorry if my issues were more openly viewed / aired than was wholly necessary, no harm was meant. Apology accepted and hopefully that will be the end of it, although I think I need a break for a bit for no other reason than I have a lot of work to do at present.

Sorry if a few people have been left head scratching, again I think Assembler and I just happened to do a bit of this talking between us. Perhaps it was wrong of me to bring that here. To those members, accept my apology for causing undue concern.

I think that's the end of it.

'Course it has! You've not been keeping abreast of things have you! :110:

Anyway, this all reminds me of Simon Groom's infamous quip during that episode of Blue Peter, where they'd just done a segment on hinged metalic rings attached to doors for the purposes of announcing one's arrival! ;-)

Yeah, if I remember rightly it was on the doors to something like York Minster or something after resoration carried out on the large wooden doors. That's going so far back I might have just made this up! :oh:
