Yes,Shogi Data Base Giyuu is a PC Engine SCD title.
To me,the rarest released game (no hibaihin, sample, caravan here), you pratically never see it on Yahoo, and it is priced 50000 Yens used in Tokyo shops, when they have it.

you plan to collect Factory sealed hucards,or CDs as well?
Factory Sealed hucards are way easier to find than CDs,by the way.

    It's bullshit,the game isn't factory sealed,and never was.
The guy though it'll be "smart" to add the round sticker on it,but you can see the "beginning" of the void writing on the back of it,because it has been "unstuck"
Anyway,All Night Nippon SMB complete game, even used, fetches 60-80000 Yens those days.

The title Adol gave you is already the romanization of the japanese title(将棋データベース 棋友).

Here's the pic of the game,

Oh I didn't know, I just assumed that it came factory sealed.

What do you mean by void writing, do you mean the swiggly things with a different silver color around the circular seal?

Yes,when you open a factory sealed FDS game, that round sticker let appear the word "VOID VOID VOID" all over it..preventing reselling used games as sealed ones. And the "silver color"you're talking about is the "beginning of the appearance" of that void thing. He probably took gently a factory seal sticker from another cheap game, touched it slightly so that "silver color" would be minimal, and put it on this game. That's a theory,i can't prove it,but i'm pretty sure it is what happened, otherwise why silver color on the borders of the sticker?

For the other question, Shogi Data Base Giyuu is a shogi SCD game, very few produced. Then it is ,if i'm correct, the rarest commercially released PCE game, and the very few times you can see it complete with spine card used in japanese shops,it sells for 50000 Yens.
I haven't seen it for sale for at least a year on yahoo as well.
The,n,that's why i say the time when i'll see one factory sealed is highly unpredictable.

There is a complete with spine A-condition copy for 49'000yen at Mandarake/Nakano or at least it was in August last year.
But wasn't Akiyama-jin also a commercial game, unless it was sold only via mailorder?

Akiyamajin was sold via mailorder, specifically for mathematics teachers or something of that kind? In any case, not in stores.

August last year is near 1 year ago, that's what i'm telling: If you had unlimited wellet, you could buy 100 dracula x,20 sapphire in tokyo/osaka, but only 1-2 Shogi Data Base Giyuu at most.. 50000 Yens used, but never saw one factory sealed.

Yes, but unlike Dracula X or Sapphire which are playable games and people buy them to mainly play, Shogi Database is basically a stick on the shelf and look pretty collectors title as you really aren't going to play it, even if you do like Shogi and understand Japanese.

  11. #931
That doesn't affect its value,or its rarity.
And I highly doubt people buy factory sealed Dracula X or Sapphire to open them and play.

Never said it did, just mentioned that anyone who buys it will only buy it to put on their shelf and fill up a gap in the collection. A lot of the really rare and expensive games are generally rubbish or fairly unplayable.

And I highly doubt people buy factory sealed Dracula X or Sapphire to open them and play.
I doubt that too, however you just said Dracula X and Sapphire and how many copies of it are floating around that you could buy, sealed copies of these games in Tokyo / Osaka probably number a number you could count on a single hand.

Whatever condition it is,Shogi Data Base Giyuu is at least 10 times rarer than Dracula X or Sapphire.

Used mint Shogi Data Base Giyuu with spine card is 10 times rarer than used mint Akumajo Dracula X with spine card , or used mint Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire with spine card

Factory Sealed Shogi Data Base Giyuu is 10 times rarer than factory sealed Akumajo Dracula X, or factory sealed Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire.

If there are 2 Shogi Data Base Giyuu floating in all Tokyo/Osaka range, there are at least 20 Dracula X/Sapphire.

You can count on 1 hand factory sealed Dracula X/Sapphire available, but you can't even count on a finger factory sealed Shogi Data Base Giyuu available.Because there is none.

So factory sealed Dracula X or Sapphire are "infinitely more" available than factory sealed Shogi Data Base Giyuu.

    Pretty simple to understand.

Is Akiyamajin as rare as the Shoji game? Have you ever seen one factory sealed?

    Gosh, really...

You do like to labour a point, even if there isn't one to make. I don't think I every said that Shogi is a less rare then Drac X or Sap...

Either a) you are sure that no factory sealed were produced or b) you just haven't seen one yet. I'm sure one has surfaced but you aren't aware of it, I'm pretty sure that Super Potato won't phone you up if a sealed copy did come in, so you could buy it.

Akiyamajin is rarer, but it is a "hibaihin", not Shogi Data Base Giyuu.
I've seen factory sealed ones, for more than 400K.

    Correct answer is B, clearly.
But i've seen more than 10 factory sealed dracula X,without even being in Japan. Again, pretty simple to understand.
But i guess since you like being anal, you'll have to labour my point again

    Keep up the good work.

Akiyamajin is not a "hibaihin", it was sold for 8000yens in december 1994.
