I try to keep my games and systems clean, but the dust returns so fast. It looks so horrible on my xbox. :crying: I have only a hoover and a duster.

I keep my xbox covered with the plastic that it comes packaged in. Mind you, I don't cover it immediately after playing but rather at the end of the day when it's had time to cool down a bit.Originally Posted by mdmx

It really depends on where you live as well, I used to live in a tiny traditional English cottage which was very dusty indeed. There was nothing I could do in that place to keep my stuff as clean as I would have liked. Also in Japan I had so much dust, I was hoovering all the time. I literally could not win!
Now I live in a less dusty place, also I house all my consoles and games in built in wooden units. So they don't get very dusty when not in use + the unit is very easy to clean.
For consoles I just have a feather duster style thing (needed for the xbox's ridges!) and I just give them a quick dust every other day (along with the tv). Keeps things looking good.
I honestly believe Gundam vs Gundam Extreme is the greatest game every created - seriously, check it out.

germany is known for dust, i'm serious...and it sucks...
but i found a good method:
we have some big ass holes in our walls here...well, they just look like holes because they're stuffed with glass...but u can turn that glass open
another hole in the room, most of the times on the other side of the room has a wodden panel in it...

seriously, since you're a german, too (dunno if other countries got it), try that swiffer dust-magnet, it's working really good for my consoles and the TV and so on

I'm doing a bunch of plaster work on my house right now, and man is it dusty. I'm afraid to turn on some of my LE units, just because of how much dust they'll soak up.
My only system that has gotten a scary amount of dust is my PC, which I take a vacuum cleaner to on a monthly basis. The Xbox has gotten a thin layer from time to time, but nothing major. Everything else is usually fine.
Be careful using a vacuum around electronic components, especally if the vacuum uses a plastic hose. All the air going by the plastic builds up one hellova static charge and can discharge into a circuit board. Good way to fry a mobo...
I never put the hose close to the components. I normally just stick it about two inches away from any vents which have accumulated dust. I'll keep that in mind, though.
