Whoa! A minty boxed Japanese R.O.B.!!!

I have the US version, but the Famicom version of the Robot has always eluded me. Boxed would be a huge bonus!

Game Choice Club has always been my favorite of the Hong Kong shops. They have all the kewl stuff that Lik-Sang and Play-Asia don't carry, but unlike AI Trading or GamesTech they seem to actually have all the stuff listed on their site in stock. Plus, they always throw in a bunch of little freebies whenever I've made an order from them, which is just too cool. Success Shop is pretty cool, too; I've had a couple good orders with them.

The personification of the shop is stunning. From website, to chap behind a counter.

That was the experience of the pre web hunt, finding places like that.
It's not until you have pictures like this that it all comes back to the roots.

This is excellent, and I am making it front page news.

One of the reasons im not buying any objects of my collection online (well, sometimes im obligated to...). I find it way cooler to hunt items down with your car, finding places, meeting other peoples, searching desesperatly for an item in an allibaba's cavern...

My collection isnt as great as many people here, of course. I have no m2 or anything of the type, but im proud of what i've found, by myself, and i can say that every item in my collection have a little story behind it. :xmas:

those places literally make you dream. And nothing's better than talking with a fellow collector while shopping. That guy seems very friendly. :)

"(...)A One World Government and one-unit monetary system, under permanent non-elected hereditary oligarchists who self-select from among their numbers in the form of a feudal system as it was in the Middle Ages. In this One World entity, population will be limited by restrictions on the number of children per family, diseases, wars, famines, until 1 billion people who are useful to the ruling class, in areas which will be strictly and clearly defined, remain as the total world population." Dont let media feed you with lies. open your eyes and search information yourself.

I still buy the vast majority of my games in Japan on yearly trips. When I was living in Japan it was great getting banter going with the owners of smaller places. Giving you a 10 percent discount or something and looking out for stuff for you. It adds a whole lot of humanity to the gaming experience. + there is the thrill of the looking, exploration of show cases and so on. Even though super-potato is a rather souless chain, they capture the assault on the senses that you just don't get online where everything is neatly presented, I want to actually look for stuff - gives so much more of a thrill.

The thing I really love about gaming shops in japan is the sense of "instantness". You know that whatever you buy is yours then and there. There is no waiting a week for postage, customs, etc. You can buy something and be cracking open the packaging in a cafe 5 mins later. Maybe I'm just impatient!

There is only really one person who I actually talk to about collecting and games etc in every day life and it makes a huge difference. Just having a good gaming conversation in the real world is a rare thing. As is a relationship with a gaming shop in the real world.

For the record, my item of choice in those pics is the Hanshin Tiger Gamecube. I have been looking for too long. I actually had the chance to buy one in osaka, but I left it a couple of hours to think about it and when I came back, it was gone. Maybe they are more common outside Osaka, where hatred for the tigers runs strong!
I honestly believe Gundam vs Gundam Extreme is the greatest game every created - seriously, check it out.
