Other unreleased DC games leaked ala Propeller Arena & Half Life?

I just read a topic here in which there was talk of a few people having an alpha version of test drive cycles and worlds scariest police chases. I was curious if there was indeed more games like half life and propeller arena in which the game was canceled but leaked.

If so, could anyone point me in the right direction for obtaining these games? I'd be willing to pay someone to burn them to disc and ship to me.

In all the recent conversation about Sonic X-Treme, many have forgotten that Chris Senn also worked on another high profile cancelled game - Geist Force for the Dreamcast! Has anybody tried to see if this could be made available, since a preview build was shown at the 1998 TGS? I believe a rolling demo of the original Sega Rally 2 conversion also briefly made an appearance at the same event, but few people seem interested in tracking such titles down. Finally, isn't a prototype of Black And White currently in the hands of a collector as well?

I thought Black & White for Dreamcast was labeled 'lost', but from what I heard it would be in the possession of some Lionhead employees.

is there a way for a guy like me to be able to get a copy of one of these games? or are they not like Half Life and Proppeler Arena in the sense that they can be burned to a cdr?

sure there is this great site for finding all sorts of great, pirated games: www.google.com If you havent understood the subtleties, discussion on where to get pirated games is sort of frowned upon. It really isn't difficult to find these games. Look around.

Dreamcast protos have to be converted, made smaller, and have their copy protection cracked (if there is any, few titles do). There aren't many people who are still able to do this. If it's a true proto, you need a System Disc 2 or Utopia disc. If it's a hacked proto, it should self boot.

Xbox protos need either a debug xbox, or a modded xbox.

    PS2 protos need a TEST ps2 or a modded ps2.

Saturn protos need a System Disc 1st party or a System Disc 3rd party or a modchip.

Most cartrage protos can run in retail systems.

N64 DD protos need a Partners N64 and a DD devkit. (I think)

    A Utopia boot disc won't boot a GD-R.

Indeed, there is such a thrill to the hunt. Sometimes it's the actual hunt itself that's more exciting than that being sought. Slowly tracking your quarry, sometimes for days, finding it's hiding place, sharpening the broadband adapters, moving in for the kill, and then that final strike! Roasting it over an open CD-R burner, the village feasting on succulent beta flesh for days.

    Nothing quite like it.

I once met the programmer of Planet of the Apes on Dreamcast and he said he owned a working build.

Any chance you could contact this guy again? But realistically, how good is Planet of the Apes likely to be....

I know who the guy is so I could possibly contact him back. I would not want to harass him, thought. Planet of the Apes must be pretty bad IHMO.

My current collegue was head of Agarta on Dreamcast and also have some demonstration builds of this. Then again, same thing. I don't know his feeling about it. It hold a special place in those guys memories and I don't know if they would be inclined to release their early work. I'll discuss the topic someday but no promise.

Regardless of if/when such things get released, it's nice to know that they haven't been totally lost. I'll be happy if they surface at any point, 10 minutes or 10 years from now; I just hope the owners make secure data backups of them.

I think I would like to see my canned work released on some way or another, like Chris is doing with Sonic X-treme. But, of course, this is a my personal opinion :-)

Agartha can be played on PC though. It was ok as far as I remember. I wonder how far they got with Toejam and Earl on Dreamcast.

I'm almost certain it was playable. I used to have a short video of a split-screen game being played, although I'm not sure if it was pre-recorded.
