Ok, as far as the cables, here is the link to the thread, [ http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 ] maybe you guys can tell something I can't. As for the Hd, if you read the installation guide to install the raptor card in the help file that comes with the Xbox SDK, it shows the pics, and in the size part it shows about 20 gigs. And if you can do that with a debug, why is there the extra interface on the mobo of a dev kit, the one behind the gpu cooler? What is that plug for, and how can you use that board on a debug with out that plug? Thanks again to everyone for all the info.

The difference between stock Debug kits and stock Development kits are the case and the extension boards (USB, serial & SCSI ports). If you have the extension boards, then you can "upgrade" the Debug kit into a Development kit. Granted, the boards won't fit in the Debug case, so you would also have to replace the case or leave the top off.

Still, for a bare card, I wouldn't expect more than $70 right now.

Oh, but what about that other port on the motherboard? THe one behind the GPU cooler? Does that hook up to anything? I know what the difference is, I am just wondering what that other port is for.

This is most likely what you're getting:

    http://www.consoletech.co.uk/idc/gal...bundle-01.html

A bunch of AV cables and an August 2001 Final Recovery Disk.

I will be surprised if you receive anything other than what can be seen in that picture. The box I received was sealed, and had the MS part number on a label on the side.

Curiously, the image in the auction link you posted has had the words "August 2001" photoshopped out on the disc. Also, the contents are deliberately covered by that piece of paper (which was not included in my sealed box) to make it more 'mysterious'.

I'm not totally catching what port you're referring to. The A/V port?

The kernel debugger card (the one with the serial port) connects to the LPC bus on the motherbord. That's the one next to the TSOP chip where modchips are connected to).

The emulation card connects to the IDE ribbon cable and the DVD drive power cable.

Here is a somewhat crude and basic diagram of the layout:
This is done from memory so I'm not 100% sure about the IDE cable layout although it's very close.

Wait, that sounds like the arcade connector. Are you saying you have a dev board with a connector that looks like this (hope you don't mind i'm borrowing your pic, atomiX):

because if you do, you have something of a rare board, even among dev kits. If you're just looking at pictures, most dev kits don't have this connector.

Nah, no problem. The board isn't even mine now anyhow.

I don't mind people using my pictures providing they ask me first. I've had problems in that department though which is why I will be watermarking my pictures from now on. Nothing related to this so don't worry.

That is the connector I am talking about, and I wish I even had a dev kit. What is it for?

Ok I read the whole thing, and it never says what it is for, or what it is used for.

OK, thanks for the info, so then all dev kits do not have that little pin set? OR is it only the prototype ones have them? I still have everything available, I have a few offers on some stuff, but as it currently is, I have everything still available.

Only the Prototypes have the arcade connector, just like only the Prototypes have the fifth USB header.

Oh ok. whatis this about the usb header? I thought it was only that extra board that had the usb ports? Are there more than just the one?

There are some proto boards out there that have an extra USB connector built in to the mobo at the back of the machine. There are VERY few of these (i know of 4, and OE has 2 of 'em). They were made when microsoft was transitioning from the 1.0 mobo's to the 1.1's

From what i can see on the pic above, it looks as though that motherboard has a set of 5 pins (xbox style USB port) on the back of the motherboard where a USB port could be mounted, although i don't know a massive ammount about the above motherboard i'm guessing that space is for a USB port, but i could easily be wrong.

Ok thanks for the info. Anyone still interested in any of the stuff in the add?

That would depend on if you ever got Turok to boot. ;-)

Well, yes I did, but I only got it to work with a debug bios that had been modded by a friend of mine. I also know the guy I got it from said he and a few friends couldn't get it to work on a normal debug (they did not try with modded bios's) I believe based on these facts that it could be a beta live disk. From looking at some picstures of oldengineer's collection, I think they are beta live games. AO yes I did get it to work.

I can pretty much guarantee that Turok is NOT a beta live game.
