should i sell my extra saturn i have?

I've been thinking about selling a spare model 2 saturn I have. You see I bought this saturn for about $40 at a comic con one year. Eventually I installed a 21 pin mod chip in it, however i guess by trying to get a copy of christmass night to work on it (eur version, but for some reason it wouldnt work with even patching, although it did with swapping), or either droping it, it caused it to short allowing it not read games properly. Anyway I tried reinsterting the ribbion cable aftter taking out the mod chip then it wouldn't even spin. So months go on and i buy another model 2 saturn that is much cheaper then first. However i was able to fix my first saturn model 2 while waiting for the replacement one to come in. The first one i got still works great ever since i fixed, but i use the the second one i bough mostly since i use the 4meg cart with that one. Anyway to make this long story short, do you think i should sell my spare saturn that i fixed?

Defenitly keep it, if one beraks down you can always use the spare to play on.

    No! Don't Sell it.

I have back ups for almost all of my systems.

    Why?

Because I've made a huge investment of time and money to play these games, and I don't want to be screwed, say a few years down the road when I can't play them because the console is busted, and they're not available anymore.

Keep you back up Saturn, and then, try to buy more. Don't go out of your way to get one, but when you see that Saturn or SNES, or NES, or whatever for 5 or 10 bucks, pick it up!

Ok...you're right...buy every backup you can, except megadrive/genesis...they're so damn cheap, and practically nobody wants them...if you bought every cheap one, you'd have a hell of a lot more than I do, and I already have too many.

Its good to have spare consoles, especially CDROM based consoles because of their moving parts. I own 3 PSX and plan on getting a second DC console and maybe a Saturn as well.

Exactly. One can never have enough backup systems. Particulary CD-based consoles.

If you're not an absolute fool, I don't see how any more than 1 backup is needed.

    How nicely put... :smt011

Unless that is you are collecting the different revisions of Saturn as well, then you could have at least 4 in total, just for your localised versions.

My statement was said collecting aside. Chances are that two Sega Saturns will not break due to entropy during your lifetime.

Right now I have five Sega CDXs; I'm not proud of it.
