In the usa, you can get ex blockbuster cases, they are made to fit anything. I got alomst a hundred when they got rid of carts at the local video stores.

Sadly, the hundred cases went to fit.. a hundred games..

You don't have any cases over there that had those ugly oversized EA games in it? Anything sports should do.

you know that there are 2 types of pal cases right? ;)

  10. #10
yep, well actually theres 3 :p

1 - Normal Case ege what sonic and sonnic 2 and sonon comes in

2 - EA Games as they are bigger and have abuilt in memory chip

3 - JCarts from codemasters are rounded at the top so there diff as well

and then you have the one of cases

    like for

Virtual Racer - hugh mother of a cart with its svp chip

Sonic & Knuckles - massive lock on technology on top so case design is difff again

i was just talking of 2 different versions of the standard cases

one that came with the first games and one that comes with the games after MD II was released.

    thats one difference ;)

    the boxes also differ

the MD1 boxes have big "claws" inside to hold the cartridge and which also scratch the cartridge after some use of it, the MD2 box uses other plastic trays to hold the cartridge

the MD2 box has a way more comfortable tray for the manual, holds better and doesn't destroy the manual

also, the MD1 box open in the middle of the side with a "knack" and the MD2 boxes slide open very softly ;) without any sounds :P

if you want, i can show you with photos

    ok, here we go:

    Oldstyle (MegaDrive I Cases)
That's the side of the case, clear to see: opens in the middle:

Inside the case on the left, the two hooks up and below to hold the manual (often destroys it...):

Inside on the right, the cartridge tray, with two hooks on each side to hold the cartridge (scratches it when used too often):

    Newstlye (MegaDrive 2 Cases)
Side of the second version case, opens not in the middle, opens more softly because of an other opening technique used inside:

The inner left side, now with 2 braces to hold the manual, thumbs up, this is smooth :)

and of course, the inner right side, the cartridge tray, clear to see, no more hooks, but fits perfectly:

    Outward appereance:
I think everybody know the difference, but here are two pics to show you, if you don't:

    cheers, liquitt
