    Some Dreamcast dev hardware questions...

There must be some hardcore Dreamcast dev people like me on these boards. I'm on a quest for more knowledge! :)

Since there are different variations of a Sega Dreamcast Development Box (Some that write Katana and others that write Dreamcast with the logo) are there also different variations of a GD-Writer? On the side of my writer, there is written: "GD-R #2 v0.54" Were there other revisions as well?

Also, where there some master GD-Writers that burned game data onto a (Blue) Katana GD-R?

On the Dreamcast dev boxes, where there some that had an ethernet line instead of a modem?

Here's a list of HKT development hardware I came up with for the Sega Dreamcast:

    HKT-0120 - Sega Dreamcast/Katana Development Box
HKT-0300 - Sega Katana Sound Box
    HKT-0400 - Sega Katana GD-Writer
HKT-0600 - Sega Dreamcast GIGA BYTE DISC RECORDABLE
    HKT-0900 - Sega Dreamcast SYSTEM-DISC2

Are there others that fit into here that not many know about, such as an HKT-0200, HKT-0500, HKT-0700, HKT-0800, etc?

Here are some boxes, from ASSEMbler's collection: http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2834
What are the checks for HKT-0100, HKT-0110, and HKT-0130 for? Are they different kinds of Development Boxes?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

heh, I think the bottom box became mine, because it was still sealed, but didn't have any check marks on any of the boxes.

I don't really know that much about the Dreamcast dev stuff but I think there are a couple of extra discs floating around the place for the Dreamcast - a loop checker and a GD check disc. There were two on Ebay being sold by Adam-james but the auctions have finished now.

The Katana branded GD-Rs and the Sega branded GD-Rs are identical aside from the labels. Both were burned in the same hardware and both even have the same part number. ;)

I'll take a look at my GD-Writer and get back to you. There is a Dreamcast Duplicator aswell. I don't remember the number assigned to it though. I should have a pic saved at home.

mine is a Sept/99 model, KT-0400 but the serial # sticker has an ST2 in the bottom right corner.

I doubt it means anything, but if you guys want to check yours.

Mines an October/99 model & also has the ST2 at the corner. I think the 0.54 is the firmware version.

I heard somewhere that earlier Katana dev boxes included internal GD-Writers. Does anyone know which sets included them? Also, what was the HKT-0130 Dev Box, and did this set include an ethernet line instead of the the regular modem on the more common dev boxes?
