btw, are you sure that a standard 3,5 inch floppy would fit into the mgd2 case?
Thanks mdmx! I googled for +Citizen +U1DA real quick, and the result was the same as for my Mitsubishi drive. In the 5 minutes I spent looking, I found many U1DA models, but no 64G. All the drives seemed to be 26-pin drives though.

As you politely hinted :-) a regular drive will not fit in a MGD2. Hopefully it is possible to ID which of the Citizen, Mitsubishi and other 3.5" drives that are both slim (!), 26-pin and HD.

Will post more pictures of MGD2 stuff later :-)

Ahhh! So many awesome modifications! I didnt know that some of these even existed. I saw that Xbox Control Panel back when I modded mine, I thought it looked like a good investment, but ended up not doing it....

    But wow! Very nice collection!

Very cool indeed! :oh: Pardon my ignorance, but is there a square of plastic cut out of the top of the NES? If so, why?

Oh, and since your the first person I have seen with the PowerPak, I have a question. Does it have any noticeable flaws?

Its a booklet, not a cut out square of plastic. But now that you mentioned it, I wonder what kind of booklet it is :P
<- can someone please make this as a repro and sell it so me?

Thanks CrAzy! There is an instruction booklet for the PowerPak Lite on top of the NES :-)

I only got the PowerPak Lite RAM cart which requires a CopyNES, not the "full" PowerPak, with the compact flash slot, that can be used with any original NES. The RAM cart is working very well with my CopyNES. It supports a limited number of mappers, but it is really nice to have a CopyNES + RAM cart solution as a fast and easy to use NES devbox/copier....

Some info on PowerPak and PowerPak Lite:

Hahahahaha, oh ok. Sorry, I blame my bad eye sight and choice of not wearing glasses! I thought that was the cartridge, not a booklet for it! But anyways, thats cool. Glad you are enjoying it!

This could quite possibly be one of the best collections I have seen. So many modified things its really something amazing to look at as well as the dev kits. Thanks for sharing!

    Thanks N7360! Wow!

I like this room because everything is hooked up. Not many MINT items, but they are working, and with very few restrictions. If I want to test a game, peek and poke, or make/test a little code snippit, I often can without to much trouble. I find emulators great for many things, including stepping through the execution of a piece of code, but I just fancy real hardware..

    I love dev/mod/hack stuff...

    wtf? Amiga 4000 with Voodoo 3 - that's possible:oh:
can you play all the 3dfx-glide games on it?

Yepp, it has got a Voodoo 3 PCI card :-) This is a high-end Amiga with an additional PowerPC CPU and a fast "G-REX" PCI expansion bus for acceleration, as well as 3D graphics acceleration with Voodoo 3. The Voodoo 3 card will not fit in a standard Amiga with Zorro slots :-)

Does it play all 3dfx-glide games? Nope... Only the ones that are ported to the Amiga. I.e. GLQuake and GLHexen are ported, and there are quite a few more. The 3D API most used with Amiga hardware 3D accelerators is called Warp3D. There are Warp3D drivers for G-REX with Voodoo 3, so that is how it works.

No need to use the Amiga CPU for matrix algebra on 3D vectors anymore. All translation, scaling and rotation done in hardware :-)

    More stuff :-)

Multi Game Doctor 8Mbit by Makko
    - Supports both Nintendo FDS and 3.5" drives
    - Adapters for MD, SFC and PCE
    - PC cable
    - It lets you write FDS floppies from a PC too. Very nice! :-)

Multi Game Doctor II by Makko/Bung
    - SRAM system for PCE, SGX, Game Gear, Game Boy, SFC and MD
    - SRAM system (two slots) for SFC and MD
    - DRAM system for SFC and MD
    - PC cables for both the SRAM and DRAM system

Pro Fighter X, Pro Fighter X Turbo and Double Pro Fighter by CCL
    - All 32Mbit and support SFC/SNES. DPF supports MD/Genesis as well. PFX and PFXT come with a DSP1 chip inside and support DSP1 games without a DSP1 cart. PFXT has a Game Boy slot built-in for dumping Game Boy games and writing to CCL flash carts.
    - CCL 4Mbit "Smart Boy" Game Boy flash cart + "Smart Card" adapter
    - CCL 4Mbit Game Boy and Game Gear "combo" flash cart
    - PC interface from ToToTEK

Bung Doctor SF7 128Mbit with CD7 drive and the blue DSP1 adaptor for SFC/SNES

A couple of French Nintendos I had to check out...
    - The French NUS-001 (FRA) N64 defaults to 50Hz and has a VDC-NUS DAC which outputs RGB. Easy to RGB mod.
    - The French NES outputs RGB, but it is converted from composite (RP2C07 PPU inside), so the quality is not the best...

Cheers! Hope you enjoy the photos.

Great collection. I'd love to know where you got your Caetla 0.35 firmware from!

    Thanks Taucias!!

Don't remember where I got Caetla 0.35... Have been using Caetla 0.35 for a few years now. I am not even sure if 0.35 is an official K-Comm release...

I do remember most of the homebrew sites respected K-Comm's wish to not distribute Caetla due to the issues they had with EMS. I had an account at K-Comm at that time, but I think 0.34 was the last revision I downloaded from their "Deaf Dumb Blind" homepage. It think maybe Hitmen got an OK to distribute it after K-Comm shut down their site. At least it is on Hitmen's homepage now.

If you are going to use an Xplorer cart and have problems with caeflash, I would check out x-flash as well.

I had problems using caetla because I don't have that K-Comms card and I couldn't get it work on a Xploder.

I have several zip files with caetla firmwares and I have a 0.37
Anyone knows a difference to .035?

    Hey mdmx!

I also had some issue getting the Xplorer (which is called Xploder in the US I believe) flashed. I finally got it flashed using an x-flash disc as far as I remember...

The changelog all the way up to 0.37 would be nice. I think 0.37 is a hack, but it would still be interesting to know what it does...

  19. #59
    unfortunately I don't have a changelog :( That's the reason why I asked

As far as I remember the Xplorer is called Xploder in Germany (Europe) and in the US Xplorer.

btw, I flashed caetla successful on the Xplorer but I was not able to get a PC connection.

Sorry, mdmx, I understood that, but was hoping maybe someone else reading this had the changelog. I think I have the changelog up to 0.34 somewhere, but I would have to check my old backups, and it's any new stuff in 0.37 we are interested in anyway...

Yes and no :-) The Xplorer was developed by the UK company Future Console Design and markedet by Fire International in most of Europe. It the US it WAS markedet as Xploder under the Blaze label, but it turns out it was in Germany as well...

My parallel port was in "normal" mode (i.e. SPP) last time I used it. Did you try under Win9x or something newer? Those port drivers under NT-based OSes does not always work out you know...
