Thought it might be an interesting topic for a few of you...
Over the last few years I've managed to aquire about 200+ different sample cover art displays for Japanese DC games.
Many of them were released to Japanese retail stores with the idea of promoting a games upcoming release, The good thing about many of them is they differ completely from the finished box art.
Thought I'd show a small sample of some of the interesting ones:
For comparison:
Final Sonic cover: http://sega.jp/dc/db/photos/manual/981008_l.jpg
Final Godzilla cover: http://sega.jp/dc/db/photos/manual/981001_l.jpg
Final Sega Rally 2 cover: http://sega.jp/dc/db/photos/manual/981003_l.jpg
Final Blue Stinger cover: http://sega.jp/dc/db/photos/manual/981006_l.jpg
Final Penpen cover: http://sega.jp/dc/db/photos/manual/981005_l.jpg just a background colour change (they're are 3 variations including an orange back on the retail demo disc release
Im pretty sure I've now got doubles of the above 12 sample covers (they are all original card releases with a large DC logo on the reverse) so I would be happy to sell them if anyone was interested in them.
If no one wants to buy them before Saturday I'll stick them up on videogameauctions.com
