I can write a book based on this event. It will start out somethign like this.
It will be about a poor fisherman who finds a rare treasure in his meager catch. He tries to sell it to have a better life. He asks a "trustworthy" individual to be the middle man on this so that the fisherman can keep his anonymity. As he is trying to sell it, a religious cult begs and pleads that the fisherman should give it to them out of charity; a petty thief tries to get in on it by offering money he doesn't have; an "honest" collector wishes to buy the treasure truthfully.
JOIN the poorfisherman as he journeys the world as he tries to sell.... "The Treasure from Jade Gully".
There will be action, suspense, drama, love, and PIRATES!!!

I hope Legit keeps it to himself but makes a video of him playing it and posts that.. That is all i want.. I don't want a copy i just want a video of him beating the level or him exploring the level.
This is very unfortunate. This also refelects badly on the Sonic community well. If not for Ratman, things would have been much different. Oh well.

If the bidder wishes to remain so anonymous, chances are the Sonic community will never see this thing hit the Internet. That's just my theory, though. I was interested in playing it, but I wouldn't kill (or pay a four figure sum) for it.
Id keep it for my self just to annoy the fanboys :)

I don't get why. Only one fanboy has caused problem, and we don't even know if he's from any Sonic fan community. =P
The others have tried to raise more funds for the collective bid, and I don't think that's a reason to try to annoy them now that the auction is over.
By the way, I'm sure many of these guys (including me) would gladly pay for a copy. If the buyer is interested he could get his money back easily.

Everybody moaning about the $3,000 bid -- you had your chances to bid anywhere between the two bids. RedEye even invited you to do so, "in case the top bidder bails out".
Please do not associate my name with fiasco. As I stated early on, I am not in any way a part of TheRedEye's deal. I simply shared information on the build in question to help clear up any misconceptions that potential buyers, as well as the seller/TRE, had about the build.
If anyone wants my personal opinion (now that the auction is over), $2500 is way too much to spend on that demo. It's kinda neat to tool around with, but once you've seen it running chances are good you'd never pop it in again. That kind of money should be reserved for something rarer and harder to find. Again though, that's just me. I wouldn't pay it, but if someone is willing to, more power to em.

Partially on the off-chance that they could make a higher bid, and partially because I thought the fans deserved a short at it too. I now regret this decision and will not be making it again.
