What exactly is an M2 blackbox? Are we talking about that thing Assembler (kevin) said he could get 200 of for ten grand? What was it called, Panasonic F-Z 1809585 or something?
I have tools for those as well as some finished kiosk discs.
Please contact me as soon as possible concerning this, I'm interested in tools for development and/or finished kiosk discs for the M2 FZ 35s Media Player. Any helpful information on receiving and/or obtaining information related to developing software and/or programs that'll run on the M2 FZ 35s Media Player would be highly anticipated. In fact, ANYTHING related to the M2 FZ 35s Media Player would be highly appreciated . . .Originally Posted by ASSEMbler

Both of you do realize that this post is over 2 years old don't you? I believe assembler has long since liquidated his FZ software.
What do you suppose that I should do to obtain information/software regarding the Panasonic M2 FZ-35s Interactive Media Player? - - I wish that there was SOMEONE who could help . . .Originally Posted by jwhazel

I know this is almost inconsequential, but in case anybody was ever wondering, cdmotion was a windows only tool. Matsushita was never keen on using macs for development. I turned my search for this software into overdrive when you were trying to get the arcade games to work. I was hoping it would somehow help you understand the boot process better. I emailed developers, past developers, key people at 3do, etc... and came up with nothing.there was also an easy-to-use authoring tool called "CDMotion". That required additional tools for building a disc image, however. I don't know if that was for Mac as well, but I suppose so.
It may be possible to do this non-destructivly. I need a better look at the hardware though. It might be possible to use a bit blaster, much like how you extract the contents of the original 3do rom. I haven't a clue until I get my hands on one. One of the main problems is (at least with the original 3do, I'm assuming with the FZ as well) the rom contents are encrypted. The guys at freedo seem to be intentionally vague about exactly what type of encryption is used. I myself can't hardly even decrypt morse code let alone your fancy md5's and rc4's (obviously I'm exaggerating a bit, but you get the point). If I obtain the encrypted rom, anyone here think they can make something out of it?To dump the bios, you need an (e)eprom reader and a compatible adapter.
Regardless, I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a FZ on ebay and yahoo japan (do they ever pop up there?) As soon as I get one, I'll hack it apart. The last one that popped up went for some crazy amount just because it had the stupid chevy demo with it.

 Well i got that one but i dont care,i saw movement in fz35s at last...
anyway because i can see that there are people sharing the same insane interest for my beloved 3do. i can send my extra fz35s to anyone that can REALLY make a dump of the bios.just contact me and we can find a way to send this... i really want to help and i dont care about money if its gonna make sth special...
Yeah, I think obtaining cdmotion involved dealing directly with matsushita (and consequently in japanese). Many links on obtaining it existed on there official m2 site. At one point, after digging deep through archive.org with babelfish, I uncovered what I thought might possibly be a set of x86 based tools for dealing with the FZ's. There was a compiler and some misc tools available (or in the works) from matsushita, but it may very of well been a translation error.
My idea exactly. The issue though would be who to contact though. I quick search through archive.org and I can't retrieve the page that had the contact on it for m2systems.com, but if someone is interested, I'm sure I can find it somewhere.Maybe someone here speaks Japanese and could ask Matsushita once again?
Possible. Encryption is definatly not my thing. I'm only basing that on the fact that the original 3do bios was encrypted. Any particular reason you think that the FZ one isn't?if the bios is really encrypted (though I'm sure it isn't)
I don't actually have one so I don't know for sure, but weren't dev kits supplied a bios file to reflash the card that it came with? If so writing a program would be pointless since if you have the devkit then you (probably) have the bios file to begin with (unless you really need the FZ-35 one for some reason).we need someone with the M2 SDK to create a small program that can be run on the FZ-35s and will dump the bios by sending it over the serial port to a PC.
The people, who I know speaks Japanese are GaijinPunch, Warakia Yakumo-sama. And well I think either gaijinPunch, and Warakia, would be the best bet. If I remember right, but ask Yakumo too. And if you want to go into the extreme, then also ask Japan-Games.com. Since he is a member too.

Actually I hate asking people to translate stuff for me (so much so that I've started to try to learn japanese myself). But could you by chance tell me what this picture is all about? Posted on the official M2 website some years ago. It's way over my head. It sticks out like a sore thumb on a corporate website full of tech specs.Originally Posted by Yakumo
