I actually didn't like that one too much. Couch was ugly and way too close to the t.v. The cool part was how he connected all the systems to his t.v. at once.

Albino, that's his bed, not a couch.

I have that identical shelving unit in my family room, but it just didn't work for my game room. Based on those pics, maybe I should send in mine. ;)

do you guys keep all your consoles out like that? I only keep my CG, XBOX and PS2 and most prob gonna pack the GC away as no one plays it. So a Ultimate Gaming Setup in my house dont look to impressive :D

wow that is a tiny room then! I guess with the space it is a pretty sweet ass set-up. I thought it was his living room or something. However that doesn't change the fact that his couch\bed\whatever is ugly.

There's no such thing as "TV too close to the couch" (or chair, or whatever)...

Ideally, a screen takes up the user's entire peripheral vision, forcing them to physically move their head to follow action on-screen. This principle is what makes IMAX so cool.

Possibly, but there is an ideal distance from the screen. For a game designer working on a single screen system (i.e. most of our console games), you don't want the player sitting so close to the screen that they have to turn their heads to see the sides. Particularly for FPS games, the player should be the appropriate distance that corresponds with the left/right edge of the screen being right at the edge of their frontal vision. Any further would require head movement and dissipate the immersiveness of the game. On the other hand, you don't want them so far away that they feel like they have tunnel vision while playing.

Working with multiscreen systems is a completely different story. Something with three screens (i.e. that one Ferrari arcade game or an insane Gran Turismo setup) has to have an exact head/eye position to look proper. In these cases, you want the side screens out of the direct line of sight for realism.

Id invest money in another room!

Well IMAX isnt a giant cathode tube :p
Id get mad after 2hrs of watching stuff / gaming at that distance!
