    Saturn Wizardry Llygamyn Saga

Bought this game today not expecting to get much play out of it but was I sure wrong ! When I visited the option screen I found a very pleasent surprise :D The game is 98% bilingual !! This is very odd for a RPG or Dungeon game due to the amount of text in them. You can change everything in to English bar the Character's name and option menu so here's a quick guide to it.

    Message : Japanese (1) Japanese (2) English
    Monster's Name : Japanese / English
    Item's Name : Japanese / English
    Magic's Name : Japanese / English
Monster look : Graphic / Sega Saturn
Dungeon Type : Stills / Polygons
Auto save : ON / OFF
    Sound : Stereo / Mono
    BGM : ON / OFF
    ???? : ON / OFF
Sound Effect : ON / OFF
Auto Map : ON / OFF

Here's a few shots of it in English. As you can see the character's name stays in Japanese.

Does anyone know of any other Japanese RPG type games with an English option.?

Sorry to go off topic, but that name is a very odd Welsh/Celtic crossover

    Ellyll is Welsh for 'Goblin/Elf'

Myn is 'by' in the swearing context "by God"

There is no "ga" in Welsh

Interesting find though, how does it play? is it any good? I might pick up a copy from somewhere if it's worth looking out for.

Yeah, I thought the title sounded Welsh or some sort of Flemish language. I've not had much time to play it yet but I can tell you that I was pretty confused for thefirst few minutes trying to understand what the hell I was doing :p

Hmm..I wonder how much of the english text is just from the original games in the first palce. It wouldn't seem so strange to have kept it around then (although maybe i'm just crazy/stupid). I am curious about this version of the trilogy though on one aspect: Can you tranfer characters from one game to the next? The SNES version of this had the complete games but didn't let you tranfer characters over, which seemed very bizzare to me (The original games, of course, would let you transfer characters)

I'm not sure yet but I don't see why not since there are monster menus and so on. I'm going to try and have a game this coming Sunday.

Flemish? That's just Dutch with a funny accent! ;-)

Anyway, nice discovery Yak, also, can you tell us what changes when you set "dungeon type" from polygons to stills and back?

Last night it had a naked woman as the avatar. It's back to the Xbox looking Dreamcast now. I took a picture so I could show you just in case it went back.

    Sure can tell you :)

Here is the dungeon in Saturn Polygon mode

And here it is in the stills mode or more like wire frame mode.

Also here's the mosters in the original mode (Black & White)

and now in the Saturn mode (Sorry for the poor picture)

Is this a remake of some old western RPG or something, then?

yes but it's not the only Saturn Wizardry game. Data East released Wizardry parts 1 and 2. THey have it in my local Hard Off without instructions so I won't buy it. I think it's going for 200 yen.
