    Homeland on GC?

I managed to find a broadband adaptor for the Gamecube the other day for - what I thought was - an excellent $5.99. Wanting it for collecting purposes if nothing else, I snatched it up and brought it home.

As everyone knows, the 'Cube has something like two titles that support online play, with a third - Homeland - being still fairly new in Japan. PSO I+II is definately on my list to buy, but I'm also interested in Homeland - namely: Does it require a huge degree of Japanese fluency to play? Can it even be played outside Japan? Is it actually any good? And are there any plans to bring it to the US?

Thanks to anyone that can help answer this.

"(...)A One World Government and one-unit monetary system, under permanent non-elected hereditary oligarchists who self-select from among their numbers in the form of a feudal system as it was in the Middle Ages. In this One World entity, population will be limited by restrictions on the number of children per family, diseases, wars, famines, until 1 billion people who are useful to the ruling class, in areas which will be strictly and clearly defined, remain as the total world population." Dont let media feed you with lies. open your eyes and search information yourself.

I have homeland & its a fantastic game, very unusual to look at & very beautiful. However if you cant read japanese your going to have a hard time as there is a lot of japanese text but with a bit of trial & error im sure you could make your way through it.

The online mode works outside of japan, i live in the uk & i have managed to get it to pass the online mode test in the main menu. I have still yet to work out where you need to go to play online in the game. Its not a straight option in the main menu i think you have to acess it while playing the game.

Best thing about the online mode is its totally free to play, you can either join into someone elses game or you can host your own game & be the god of your world effecting what happens to everyone.

Somehow i dont think this will ever leave japan, it would take too much effort to localize in the west.

Very little Kanji is definitely a selling point for me. But now that you mention Freeloader: is there any version of the Freeloader disc what will boot on the newer model (missing the digital-out port) Gamecubes? My 1.06b Freeloader which worked fine on my roommate's old style 'Cube will not boot on my newer model - I'm given the same disc error message as if I had tried to boot a Japanese or PAL game.

Play-Asia.com is always a good place to look, as is LikSang.com, who usually also has free shipping. NCSX.com is an old hat at the importing business, but there's also the less well-known videogamedepot.com - while their selection isn't as wide-ranging as some of the others', a lot of times they are a few bucks cheaper. I've used all of the above services a few times, and can recommend every one.

Not trying to sound like a smartass, as I know Freeloader has done revisions with capital/lowercase letters before, but is there any difference between the 1.06b and 1.06B discs?
