    3DO Panasonic FZ-1 RGB-Mod existent?!

    I am wondering...
is there a RGB-modification for Panasonics FZ-1 machine?!

I searched the net and found NOTHING!!!
.. last week an auction in Germany ended selling a modified RGB-capable FZ-1.
The modification was done by professionals from Wolfsoft.
Wolfsoft does not list that mod (anymore), so I wrote em an email.

They say that an RGB modification IS possible but difficult and costs 150EUROs *ACK :smt1069

Anyone ever heard of this kinda Mod?! Anyone got such a Mod?! Maybe even a tutorial and/or pics?!

I've never heard of anyone doing it successfully, The guys at Tokyo RGB hospice tried for a long while but could never tap a pure RGB signal from the machine.

I'd certainly like to hear about it.

Got another mail from those guys...

they say you need an extra D/A converter - and they say its (by now) very hard to find.

Im just guessing .. but doesnt every DVD-Player have one?
    Im no specialist !!
but somehow the picture makes it from a digital source to an RGB capable analogue-output...
even if I can get my hands on such a converter.. where would I have to pick the digital signal on a 3DO board?!
Too bad its looking like I would have to spend 150 + shippings to find out :)

The video RAM may be tapped for the DAC. You need those guys to tell you exactly how to do it and we can tell you how get your video and maybe provide a circuit with attainable parts. Sorry, normally this is something I'd bust open my console for but it's way too much work with a TRY in storage :)

That is weird, isn't the analog RGB video fed from the RAMDAC to a (Sony CDXxxxx) RGB-to-composite encoder like in all other systems?

It's 3do... I can see a fishtank mod, or a flower pot mod. RGB? Does anyone leave 3do on for more than 15 minutes?

Those American Laser Games for 3DO like Mad Dog McCree II and Crime Patrol are great party games. ^_^ It's fun to watch drunks try over and over to play.
