    Valis is back !

I f*cking hate summer here in Japan. Today it's 36 degrees Celsius !!! But I'm cool because VALIS is back !!! In mobile phone form. Weighing in at a hefty 1.8 MEG this takes about 7 minutes to download but is worth the wait and the price is a very good 515 yen for unlimited play unlike Sega's games were you have to pay them each month to unlock the game :(

Valis on the mobile is by far the most playable Valis of all !! Graphically it's miles ahead of the last Valis game on the SFC featuring scaling, rotation, sprite distortion, transparencies and some pretty cool animation !! It even has little eye catchers between levels as it loads !! The game plays just like the early Valis 2 did. You run around the multi parallax layered scaling areas slashing your Valis sword at anything that moves. Don't forget to pick up the items though to power up !! After level one is complete you can change your costume just like the original Valis 2. There's also a shop where you can buy sexy nurse costumes. Just like any normal console game this also features cut scenes with cut anime girlies. Below are a few screen shots taken from the official site http://keitai.channel.or.jp/content/...cflg=3&sid=136 but these don't do the game justice at all. Let's just say that this is far more impressive than most of the games on the GBA and it only cost 515 yen !!

If you're in Japan and you have a modern mobile then make sure you get this !! You'll be very surprised. The game is for the Vodafone network and only compatible with Mega Appli phones.

I'll be featuring this game on Retro Core 12. It's far too good to let it go un-noticed like it probably will.

It's always between 80-90 here... 12 months a year. No good games on the phones though.

Yeah, we've been sitting above 100F for about the past two weeks (37-40C) with no end in sight! And the hotel I'm working at has no AC, either, so we just have to sweat it out.

Of course, if it's any consolation, it was apparently 125F (51.6C) in Needles, California the other day. Not that it makes it any cooler here, but it's nice to know someone else is suffering.

The reason it can get up to 105+ and be bearable is because it's dry heat. It's always humid here when it gets in the 90's and it sucks ass. CT gets the best of both worlds. Hot ass summers and cold ass winters. Woo.

yeah you lot may be in hot weather but you're forgetting I'm British ! we don't get a lot of hot weather in the UK. if it's in the 80's then we're happy. So 36 to me is bloody hot.

I think on the whole it's easier in the states. I did a homestay in Japan. When it was hot as balls, we weren't allowed to use the AC b/c it was too expensive. When it was freezing ass cold, no heater for the same reason. :/

When I finally lived on my own, I had ridiculous utility bills b/c I left the shit on for hours on end, and took white people-style showers. Hey, I was enjoying life though!

I've experienced 45 celsius with a full 100% humidity factor, many years ago in Veracruz.

THIS year, however, Guadalajara, which is usually in the 19-28 Celsius range got to 40 Celsius a couple of times in May and June.

That was SERIOUSLY not good. Nobody here has AC, since we generally don't need it.
It has also not rained as much as it usually does, but we've had a couple of storms.

About Valis - I'd sure love it if it were back in a modern console, still in 2D. Chances of it happening...?
    Yeah, Slim To None.
I don't think we're gonna get phones from this century in Mexico any time soon.

We hit 34c the other week, and it's been consistently in the high twenties/low thirties for ages now. The poor baby has had a terrible time trying to sleep in this heat.

yeah but at least it's not humid. The heat isn't nice but the wetness of it is what really gets to me. My body is wet from the minute I walk out of the door until I go to bed (Use the aircon then) On the plus side it keeps me looking younger :p

Yeah, not overboard on stuff but it's prolly my fave series in the genre, got all 4 PCE & III on Megadrive........deemed the Visual collection uneccessary.

Ever see the PC box set floating around out there....appears *ellusive*?

The weather's fucking annoying here. It's super humid, and is either ultra-sunny or shitty clouds everywhere with frequent rain. I think it was up to about 30 degrees last week, but it's VERY humid. And no one has ACs in their homes here! We have one where I work (in a shop/petrol station), but it's only at the tills and nowhere else, and the tills are pretty close to the deli (where stuff is cooked) which doesn't really help things. Going on a bus (the city buses here don't have air conditioning either) this time of the year IS NOT FUN. I hope I'm losing weight or something from all this sweating!

Want a fucked up weather? Then come to the patagonia!

We have 40 celsius in summer and -10 in winter (and snows) all this with almost zero humidity.

But this is the weirdest part, there are no clouds at all: the sky just changes of color. Sometimes in summer we have a red sky ALL DAY LONG, and when the UV levels go to the top, the sky turns white.

Yep, the end of the world is a weird place indeed :smt030
