if i remember right, someone here claimed he already played an early build of sonic-X. i don't remember who said that though, on wich engine the early build ran, nor if the member is stil around, sorry.

I had a video that showed Sonic Extreme running. I looked quite fast. The version on the video showed the bonus round that was well taken from the first level boss's stage from NiGHTS. Sonic would run around the circular flat area with rings spiraling upwards. The other section showed Sonic running around an area using the fish eye lens technique.

Unfortunately this video along with my very early Panzer Dragoon CG mock up, Daytona Tech demo running on Saturn and some bizarre Virtrua Fight early stuff also running on Saturn (Akira make from about 100 polys :D) are all gone :( I have no idea what ever happened to the tape.

I mentioned that briefly in the other thread about Sonic X-treme. Talked about the Green Hill Zone tech demo and the Metal Sonic boss stage. The Green Hill level was neat to see up and running but it was pretty bare when I got to play it. The Metal Sonic fight seemed to be complete and was a decent battle against the bossman.

this formidable website is yours? Then i must tell you that i found this site aproximativly at the same time as i found the assembler, aprox. 2 years ago, and like this last one, it is in my bookmarks 'till that time. Great and very interesting website, but there's one thing i always wanted to tell you (though i didn't know you)
: dead websites tells not tales, to take the famous line of your website. i know webmasters can't be always there, that they have jobs and, first of all, a life, but an update by time to time to let us know that you're still around would be nice, you know? :(

so that was you. can i ask you how you managed to play it , how complete was the game (an approximative) and on wich engine it was running, or it is a top secret thing that we will sadly not be able to remove from your lips without using or obsucre weapons of torture?;)

no that's a different one. The one I had was much cleaner than they file they had for download plus it was longer with the original background sound.

Hehehe, that's because of my PC. For some reason over the last two days Explorer will go to the background then come back every so often making it a pain in the arse to type since the keyboard has no input once explorer has gone in to the background.

Yeah. I know. The sad part is that we have LOTS of games we could be doing something with, stuff people have probably never even HEARD of, but I've been way too busy. Things should be changing soon, I actually quit my dayjob to focus on nothing but writing!

I don't want to seem as if I'm trying to stir things up here, but the timeline by STi members is completely useless! Wasn't the Saturn released in Japan around November 1994? If this is correct, then how come that timeline explains how Sega told STi to move development of what later became Sonic X-Treme to the Saturn in late '95 once they had decided that this would become their new system? On the other hand, it's great to finally see another semi-official (well, if STi isn't "official" then what is?) source for the details of that interim NVIDIA hardware. I've had to deal with plenty of criticism in the past for my own mistakes, so it's not as if one person will always be right when it comes to documenting some of the more troubled periods in Sega's past. However, like most who've tried in the past you've at least got about 99.9% of the facts so thank you for your efforts - it's not as if Sega is in a hurry to address such issues...

so, your silence hint me that we will need to use our home made truth serum, hl718, but i guess it would spoil the fun. lets go with the obscene phone call with heavy breathing formula first. and we'll see what we can do next to scare you to thel the point you'll reveal everything we want to know about the early builds of that awaited sonic game on saturn that slowly died in sega's tightly door closed laboritory fearing progressive mental illness, gwa-ha-ha-ha.

do i scare you enough already ? :)

more seriously, are you able to speak freely about your experience?

I was paying for his hosting, and then I stopped. Neither one of us really cared to bring it back.

Well im glad you brought the forums back up, i thought the site was dead, but i must admit you guys have some of the best coverage when it comes to unreleased games, the earthbound one was totatly unexpected. Is there any chance you will do coverage on the beavis and butt-head arcade game?

I'll talk about what I can, but I won't ever verify who I have or have not worked for over the years. Sometimes what I can say is limited due to NDA or simply limited exposure, but if I can chatter away about something I will. :)
