I agree to all auction Guidlines. Still.
i saw the movie yesterday night in digital projection, the movie kicks serious ass the best starwars movie ever and imho one of the best movies ever made.
I just got back from the midnight showing. It was very impressive. Very minimal cheese, lots of substance, more than enough action, and a good wrap-up. I won't give any spoilers here, but it is on par with Empire.
I only saw like 3-4 people dressed up. One chick with old school Princess Leia buns.
Okay, one spoiler: Was very displeased with the lack of Natalie Portman full frontal. :)

My brother (the lucky bastard) went to see it last night at midnight. I haven't talked to him yet, though.
He was on the front of the local newspaper because he was first in line for Episode I a few years ago - sat out there with one of his friends for about a day. He was so happy about Darth Vader signing his book (not James Earl Jones, but the guy in the suit).
Intel paid for my fiancee and I to go to a prive midnight showing, no standing in lines or anything.
I don't think it's anywhere near Empire but it's the best of these prequels.
I'm not sure you could say "very minimal cheese", there were a few lines that I actually said "Oh my God, please!", but yes there actually was substance, action and a nice wrap up. BUT! There's one thing (one line) at the end that sat really wrong with me and gives me a terrible premonition.
I feel a great disturbance in the Force. As if millions of voices will suddenly cried out in terror, then suddenly will be silenced. I fear something terrible will happen.

Im gonna go see it this weekend.
Well, the Force was with me enough to go see the midnight showing last night, but it obviously wasn't as strong as it was with the Deathcoaster. :-D Nice work on the costume!
Revenge definately salvaged the prequel trilogy in my mind, making up for the shortcomings of the first two, and possibly even being better than Star Wars (in my mind, the weakest of the original three, but not by much). It would be a tough call to say it was better than Jedi, but Empire still reigns at the top of the list. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and definately recommend seeing it for anyone who's indecisive.
Kind of a spoiler:I'm not sure you could say "very minimal cheese",
Guess you've never been in love. That is how people sound, so I cut them some slack. Other than Anakin & Padme's puppy love talk, there wasn't that much goofy shit. The reason I say it's on par with Empire (not better.... just in the same league) is b/c the movie seemed to have a nice, long 45 minute ending. That does a lot for me, and is the drama that made Empire so moving.
And to the question of was it better than Jedi? Two words. "No" and "Ewoks".

I told you people to have faith way back when. This is definitely the best of the prequels and I'd rate it third (very close to second though) overall). There were a few things that bugged me but I'll leave that to another time.
Not much but a light spoiler.
Did anyone else think that it was kinda funny Mace Windu went out like a screaming little bitch?
Just got back from the theater my oh my this is by far the best prequel, very sad movie though...
Can't wait to go back to the theater to see it again!!!
Sorry to hear you have to wait until June Yakumo!!!
Sabre
a coupel of people i know have seen it and say its the best of the prequels as well as extremely dark, though its crazy what people are paying for tickets here, scaplers are easily selling tickets from $85 to $140, its crazy, but i will probalby see it this weekend or next, whats funny too is that this movie has had a huge pre ticket sell out, still im eager to see this one, here twords the end it ties very closely with a new hope. As for the ending ive alredy found out the last scene(mr kevin smith splurged all the details on his site), needless to say with this release and gaming, its a great time to be a dork.
June is nothing. Episodes I & II were both released in Japan two months after in the US. Too long of a wait for me, I downloaded both... Episode I on ISDN. o_0
Another slight spoiler
Was it me, or did General Greivous sound like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog a few octaves lower?
EDIT: on the topic, what's the best recent Star Wars game? I've not played agood one since Episode I Racer.
Also, where the hell are all the Cosplay galleries?

I haven't played any of the recent PS2 or XBox releases, but Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader on Gamecube was awesome. Stay away from Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike though, unless you get it for the co-op Rogue Leader; the rest of the game is complete crap.
Other than that, if you're looking for quality games, Rogue Leader and Shadows Of The Empire were both excellent on the N64 as well.
I bought the first Star Wars GC game.. I think it was Rogue Squadron II.... it was hard as nails, and turned me off around stage 4 I think.
do you really want to see this?Originally Posted by GaijinPunch

i agree, despite how well the recreations were, the gameply was just too hard and short as well, the 64 one was good though, it has yet to be topped. As for current nothing seems that great, the gba ones are ok as beat um ups, but thats about it. If you got an x-box battle front isnt too bad if you have x-box live. As for episoded 3 game i hear to stay clear of it.Originally Posted by GaijinPunch

Sayin: what about Republic Commando? No N64, so those games are out. I've only got a modded JPN Xbox, so Live is out for me. :(
