It was never released this is just some asshole selling a burned cd-rom with a downloaded half live :Hangman:

It's not the first time he sold a PAL Half-Life, either. He even admits it was never officially released, yet makes it sound like there are genuine existing copies of it!! I reported that f?!*ing bastard's auction to eBay... I hope they react fast, as it ends in 10 hours...

I find it amazing that it is up to $40. The bidders don't know that they could just download the game themselves and print out the covers.
I hope ebay closes that auction fast, it's just not right to sell a burned game.

Yeah, this is DEFINATELY NOT a roms board at all. Rare, unreleased, developer tools and systems and games, yes, but roms, no.
And it might be more trouble than it's worth, but when I see an auction like that going for a lot of money, I send an eBay message to the high bidder informing them that they are going to pay a lot of money for something the guy just downloaded for free, and that if they really want it that bad, I'll MAIL them a copy of Half-Life for free, as long as it means they don't buy from the asshole on eBay. Sure, I've spent a little bit on shipping, but I think in the end it's really worth it. I've also written to the sellers and stated in no uncertain terms that what they are doing is not only illegal and against eBay policy, but cheating the customers, (not to mention that I've reported them to eBay) and most of them come back with well-written, intelligent retorts like, "man who the f#$% r u to be saying who can have the game and who cant, its not yours to sell, if u want to talk sh1t, come over here and ill take you on" - this was from a guy in the UK, who was obviously either 13 or has never been introduced to the concepts of theft, chicanery, or the Atlantic Ocean that seperates the citizens of his nation and mine. :smt043
