I tried that but the images on Google Earth are that old that the bridge isn't even there. Only the stumps upon which it's built. At the end of the stups is a large rectangular man made built area with what looks like a shipping lane guide. No building on there unlike now.

Does anyone have any pictures of Nara? Specifically of the Todai-ji Temple, Kōfuku-ji Temple, and the wild deer roaming the streets?

I have some from my trips there, any particular reason why you'd like to see them? I'm sure there's enough to be found on Google.

Sure, there are plenty on google, but there are plenty of images of all of japan on google. I read this thread for more intimate views of Japan, as most of the photos in here are taken for personal viewing, not tourism.

Yakumo, odd question : are you by any chance from Liverpool?

Anyways, had to go to the ward office so decided to take a walk in the rain. Came across a whole section of weird.

Sudden amount of weird abandoned house complex things - lots of overgrown plants, disused/disrepaired play parks etc.

Took a couple of shots, but going to go back with video cam/camera (these taken on iphone) was all quite surreal.

Oh wow, turns out this complex has been around since the late 50s, they are redeveloping next year...

Yes, but my accent is no where near as bad as the "real" scouse accent. I do have it in me though.

Nice find on those buildings. Old creapy apartment blocks are quite spooky at night.

nice video there of the DQ9 launch. I never had a clue there was a new DQ game until I saw the news today. Just goes to show how much I care about the series  It's still hard to believe that the game gets such massive sales on release after all these years. I've only ever played the SFC Dragon Quest games and to be honest I always thought Final Fantasy 4,5 and 6 were better. In fact for my, Final Fantasy 6 was the last great game in the series as far as story went.

The one thing I've always admired about Japanese culture is the fun and quirky advertising. They're not afraid to dress up signage and ads with cute and weird characters.

haha, the wife was only just going about how FF7 was the start of the end of the series for her and how FF6 was the high point.

i never finished FF6, didn't get far into it either, so she's been on my back about playing it through for a while now.

Ah, your wife knows quality gaming. FF7 was ndeed the start of the down fall. THere will be many newer gamers who won't understand why the simple looking FF6 was the last great FF game in the series. The Final Fantasy games of today have no conection to the good games apart from the name. In away, Final Fantsy in now just a brand name to sell cack just like Sonic :(

The problem is that Final Fantasy brand is way overhyped. I mean Square Enix could make a shit game (like they did with Dirge of Cerberus) and it would sell millions of copies, while some not known company could make the greatest RPG of all time and it would sell ok.

People read "New Final Fantasy soon" and they end up acting like druggies. "Need, Need"...

I liked FFVII and FFXII, but i'm not a big RPG fan. Apart from Kingdom Hears series, Grandia 2 and Wild Arms, most fun RPGs i played were before the "3d era". Actually i think i like the first Wild Arms so much is because he mixes the 2d and 3d, and has a fantastic soundtrack. The intro music is just unforgettable.
