Hmm, I wonder why virtual dub with asf support won't open it? Hmm, I think I have TMPEGEnc on the harddrive. I'll give that a try next time. Thanks for the info.

Virtual dub might not like the weird audio codec. Glad I could help, anyway.

I had to go to some place yesterday for a meeting. The thing was that I got there 3 hours early thanks to the good old "none communication" from the higher ups to the lower ranks. Anyway, I was lead to this room where I was told to wait for 3 hours (or I could go out then come back). Anyway, check it out !

The tatami mat floor was so comfortable with the smell of new tatami mats which in case you've never smelt is quite comforting. So you can guess what I did for 3 hours can't you? Yep, a nice long sleep ;-)

I bet you're wondering what was behind the paper doors. Well err, nothing really.

Lol this is so funny, 3 hours nap before a business meeting, excellent, well I guess you made the best out of this time, I just wish I could do same at work, but generally for me it's more like 3 meetings a day sadly...

I just hope it wasn't your colleagues and/or clients that woke you up!!?? That would have been even funnier...

Wow, they are really building this area up this year !! Not only do I have a Hard Off, Sega World and the newly opened GEO Media World but now they are building a massive Yamada Denki !! Looks like it's going to be a whopping 2 floor effort as well. As you can see from these shots I took on Tuesday it's looking smart. Oh and on the 27th there's a new used "Hard" store opening right next to the new GEO. That place will sell furniture, electrical goods and so one. Here's hopping they have gaming goods. Man, Chofu is really becoming a great place. All we need now is a decent bar !

I took a video to show you just how close this place is but I'll first convert it to standard MPeg4 before posting it.

hehehehe  That plays all the time in the store.

Today was another pissing down day here in Japan. You wouldn't believe it was summer. Truth be told it's the rainy season which comes every July. Here are a few shots I took on the way to work this morning at 6:30am

View of a pond from the train  Pretty cool shot that.

The lemmings off to work. It's quite funny watching them follow each other.

Oh no, they all came together :banghead:

On the way home I popped in to two arcades. First up was what I call the snob arcade due to it's "We're high class and you're not" image  In there I played a few rounds on Midnight Run Maximum Tune 2 (Excellent game) then popped downstairs to the UFO section. They always have loads of cool stuff in their machines.

How about some thin speakers for your CD/MD/MP3 player?

Or how about a nasty MP3 player with built in FM tunner?

Or my personal favourite the cheap and nasty shitty Nintendo DS rip offs.

I'm sure many of you would love to try and get a Famicom Clone (actually very easy to get)

So after having my fun I went back upstairs to exit through the 2nd floor exit. Just then in the darkest corner out of sight was a broken Magical Truck Adventure machine.

I wonder if the board is still inside?

The other day the missus and I went to see Le Arc En Ceil at Zepp Fukuoka. While there we managed to see the steel casts of famous peoples hands. Just look at who's hand was there !

I love these figers  A swift fuck you to all visitors

Sometimes on the way home this Buddhist guy is hanging around the train station saying his prayers.

Yakumo don't get too excited about the Yamada Denki. That looks like the standard design they're building these days. There's one near Manga Souko. About 30% will be filled with useless cheap stuff from China that doesn't have anything to do with electronics. Want a bike or a hat or toy? That's the place to go. Want more than 5 PC monitors to choose from? Pick another store.

I took these this weekend. The Gion Daiko festival was in town....

that's because yamada denki is mostly working in cooperation with daikuma, the shop für accessory, wears and sportsgoods.
yamada denki itself is just a regular electronic stuff dealer just as yodobashi camera or bicccamera are too.
i can only speak for YD in the kanto-region!
since mine is only 2 minutes away from work and 15 min. from my home, i'm there quite often, when i want to buy some e-goods^^

I was out today making a video for Retro Core volume 24 (released on the 10th September 2006) so I thought I'd grab a few shots from the digital tape for you to look at. I've resized the pictures to a lower resolution so that they don't take too long to load. All pictures are taken in the town where I live, Chofu Shimonoseki (Not Chofu Tokyo)

Some nice pictures there Tatsujin, especially the sunset one. Was it overcast today in Yokahama? Looks a little from those shots.

Beautiful pictures both of you. I think what draws me the most to Japan is not just its beauty, but just because its so DIFFERENT then what is around me.
