Nifty feature I noticed in the broadband passport today

I decided to boot up the Dreamcast Broadband passport for the first time in a long time today. I was surprised to find music and a what appears to be a samurai helmet of some sort on top of the TV on the menu. Then I remembered that it was boys day and the music actually sounded like the song we had to sing in my Japanese class today. :smt043

I'm not sure. I was using the browser that came with my Japanese BBA.

I'm sure that Dream Passport 3 and Premier also have that feature. Come to think of it, so does Dream Passport 2. I remember using it on New Years day with it having all new graphics and music.

He means Childrens day which is May 5th. In Japanese it's called KODOMO NO HI which translates as Child's (Kodomo No) Day (Hi) So it's not really a "Boys" day. The girls do have their own day though called HINA MATSURI which basically means Girl Festival.

Thanks... is it something like that "day of the sea" that, I heard, was made up merely because of the lack of holidays? ;-)

Over here the 5th of May is a holiday too, but here we celebrate the end of the German occupation during World War II.

That's pretty much true. It's technically a new holiday... I believe we're about to celebrate the 8th one. Golden Week is the first of May, and there's not another REAL holiday until September (when there's two: Autumn Equinox and something else I can't remember -- Hello Kitty Day I think). Obon is in August, but despite common knowledge, it's not a holiday, and the poor suckers that work in post offices, government buildings, or more importantly (in my case) banks, have to work.
