I live in europe region and i have a PAL N64 with everdrive 64 on it. When i boot NTSC games on everdrive, i get unbelievably terrible ghosting and wrong colors on my new sammy HDTV. Needless to say this doesn't happen with PAL roms or original PAL carts.
As far as i know, PAL N64s output PAL60 or PAL50 depending on the info on the cartridge. So i can safely assume my HDTV doesn't support PAL60 well. This problem i mentioned above doesn't happen with the Sony Trinitron CRT i have.
A forum member here mentioned that he/she had the same problem (though his/her console was RGB modded) and he/she solved it by using PALadin. I don't quite understand it. If PAL mode selection is in hardware, how can PALadin force N64 to output NTSC60(the only way to get correct picture on TVs having hard time displaying PAL60). It might be outputting 50hz which totally defeats the purpose that i am using NTSC roms.
I also read at gamefaqs that some previous versions of the Passport III plus had this problem too but the new version doesn't have. So in the end, it might be software related too.
Also there are some U roms which written to be PAL on good merge N64. Are they 60 hz or 50 hz?
So any solution possible, on software or hardware?
