I discovered it back in 2008 trying to record Dead Rising footage for a walkthrough. Real shame. The gamebridge is a solid piece of hardware otherwise. Software worked flawlessly on XP, if theres workarounds for Vista/7 I might have to give it another go at getting my wrestling tapes ripped.

When I was researching sofware configs and codec fixes for specific needs, I came across a bunch of updated Vista fixes, etc., ad nauseum. Let me know if it actually works. I rolled back my laptop to XP about six months back, and with a few small tweaks, I don't miss Vista At. All.

    I've heard that going to
"Start > All Programs > InterVideo Home Theatre > Config"
You can change settings around and get it to black and white. Somebody else mentioned "NTSC_433" that may be a colour fix. I'll have to reinstall the software and give it a go sometimes soon.

This is a pretty poor example of the quality. It's 240P because of youtube's past limitations but I guess its a starter

It's a very small device and gets good quality video. Very handy however there are limitations.

It will NOT record PAL 60HZ. Period. There is no known fix for this.
The software also has issues on Windows Vista. I found that it caused it blue screen. It may work in Windows 7 (I haven't tested it)

I paid £15 posted for mine brand new. Granted this was years ago and as such price may have gone up.

Ah, does it record any PAL or is it just PAL 60Hz that it's unable to? The video looks smooth, despite YouTube's crappy old limits.

Ah, well if there's workarounds - if you do try it on Vista or 7 sometime Cyantist please do let me know as that will probably seal the deal on me picking one up.

As for that eBay link - the seller hasn't included anything for worldwide shipping so I'm assuming it's a US-only one sadly.

50hz is kosher and it is very smooth. The files it puts out are perfect (They are .AVI files). Youtube just butchered it back in 2008.

Already did. Won't do it internationally. Sorry, was falling asleep when I wrote my other post last night.

Anyway. I'll just have to keep an eye out for one and I can see how those Vista workarounds go.

If it comes down to it, I can have it shipped to me, and I will, in turn ship to you (on your dime, of course). ;)

I'd really like you to have the solution you are looking for.

You can get one for far cheaper anyway. Here's an eBay listing. It's still to expensive but if the worst comes to the worst...

5 years ago these were far cheaper. Crazy how what was a stupidly common device back then is so expensive now. but Cant you just use any TV card that has AV inputs (I guess that's what you're after) or do you only have a laptop?

There is also always the Dazzle, which is similar to the gamebridge. I don't know shit about these though so can't help you with them.

I can say from experience that the gameBridge is probably the best way to go, all around. Dazzle is more expensive, long term anyway (all their entry-level stuff is shit, anyway). I can find a GB for about $30 USD. A good Dazzle runs $60+.

Ah, thank you for the link.

My fiancée (to avoid any confusion - I'm female, glad nobody thought I was being overly girlie with the text emotes ^^; ) picked up a Dazzle a while ago and honestly put - it was a waste of the money he spent on it.

That and I'm also pretty sure he got cranky and threw it out. So that's why I wanted to see if there were any better recommendations.

I've only currently got a laptop as I'm currently in Australia, my last computer got trashed and I'm planning to move to the US so it seems a bit redundant to buy or build a computer here when it would cost me more to do it here and would end up being more stuff to move over in the end.

Anyway. When I get my pay in a couple of days, I'm going to pick up a GameBridge and then it's just down to importing a decent US VCR.

Again, if you or your Dazzle-chucking fiance' need any help, just yell. :)

    Best of luck!
