Is this Mega Drive 2 for real, or a clone?

The one on ebay probably isnt - there was a thread about it here recently.

1. Can I use an RGB/SCART cable with it...
2. What region games can I use?
3. Is it good quality?
4. Can I do a 60hz mod to it?

No problem. What I need to find next is if the quality is actually any good! I wouldn't want to buy it and then find it is a piece of crap and the quality is really bad (build, picture and sound).

Assuming its not a clone (and pretty sure its not) - build quality will be what you would expect from a genuine mega drive.

I dont really understand why you are asking... if its not a clone its legit and has the same build quality as any other.

For some reason I thought I have read somewhere that the quality is pretty bad, but I think it was for a real clone... lol I'm confused now :)

The one in eBay is a completely legit Mega Drive and it's build quality is rock solid.

The ebay one it's the PAL ASIA Mega Drive, I own, it's definitely genuine and not a clone of some sort.

The same quality you'd expect from a NTSC-J Mega Drive. Only difference is it outputs PAL video and that it expects PAL roms.

The building quality is top, you won't see any differences regarding it's material. Never had issues with audio or video, basically is a plain Mega Drive, which was more affordable for the Asian market. Otherwise you're going to get a nice foreign Mega Drive.

I haven't mod it, but I believe you can mod it pretty much like any other Mega Drive 2. I never had any compatibility problems, worked fine with every single PAL game I tried.

I was thinking of putting it permanently on 60hz (so I dont have to drill holes or anything) then get an everdrive.

It's just a PAL Mega Drive board with a slide power switch instead a push power switch, inside a NTSC-J Mega Drive case. Nothing else.
