Ngc Black Looking to purchase Nintendo Gamecube component cord/cable.

    Hello everyone,

I looking to purchase a Nintendo Gamecube component cord/cable. I know component cable/cords were not released to the U.S. or if they were it was a small supply.

I am looking for a Nintendo Gamecube component cord/cable, Japanese or U.S. one.

A new or used cord is fine. I would like new, but used is fine too.

I am open to discussion when it comes to prices. Please either PM me or reply in this thread if you are interested. Also please let me know in whatever way you communicate, if PMing or replying is more convenient for you?

I found a cord to purchase. Thanks for the responses.

    Thanks for listening.

The component cable will work. Apparently its US release was very limited due to mail order only. Of course I can't speak from experience since I bought my cable years after Nintendo stopped.

While not sold or supported in PAL regions, the cable should be OK on their Gamecube also. PAL 480p removal was an intentional decision in game software. (meaning PAL Gamecube needs import or hacked games to see it)

Yes. US and Japanese Gamecube are that similar. It's toggled on the board. One can literally bridge two holes with a strand of wire to make the launch US model become Japanese. Installing a switch is recommended yet somewhat trickier due to limited space.

It's useful because some Japan games have glitches played under an incorrect mode. As modchip and freeloader owners will attest.
US Star Fox Adventures is perhaps most interesting. Forced to play on Japanese Gamecube, it'll load the normally unseen language content that its region check hid away.

    Hello everyone,

I see. Lum and Tokimemofan, thanks for responding.

I will change my details above to U.S. component cord/cables.

I had no idea about the mail/online order of the cord from Nintendo. I wish I had known, I would have purchased one for sure.

This may seem strange, but do you think I could get a component cord/cable from Nintendo now? I figure they won't have any, but no harm asking right?

    Thanks for listening.

That's ridiculous. You aren't likely to find one. Being identical and mail order only, you'd have to just take someone's word it's a supposed "U.S." cable. Or be lucky enough to find one somebody ordered from Nintendo then never opened the package. Once opened, anybody could've easily swapped it with a Japanese cable.

    Hello everyone,

No worries GrindheadJim, thanks for responding.

Lum, you are correct, it will be hard to find. Also it doesn't have to be new, it can be used as long as it works. Thanks for the advice though.

Also Lum, I was looking through eBay for Gamecube component cords/cables and one guy said, "This is the Japanese version but they will work with any GameCube systems produced BEFORE May, 2004."

    Here is the link, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Official-Nin...item1e706ebcce.

I am not sure if that is true or not, who knows.

In either case thanks for responding and for the information.

    Thanks for listening.

The Japanese cord works on any GameCube with the component port.

The reason "before May 2004" is included is because after that Nintendo simply removed the port all together.

If your GameCube has the port, it will work.

I wouldn't so much call it "advice" as basic Gamecube hardware understanding anybody should be aware of. You already own Japanese console mode, as I said above. The language is inside waiting to be revealed.

Neat. I knew it was a great idea to buy the official brand Nintendo GameCube Component cable for SIX dollars from a flea market vendor. =)
