I recently watched the Game Center CX episode of Takeshi's Castle for the famicom, subsequently a friend and I have started translating the rom into english. He has already translated all of the script, I've inserted most of the new text and just need to finish up the title screen modifications. It's a family fitness/ powerpad game

I wish I knew a better option for editing the title screen, I thought I could drop tiles in place in YY-CHR to establish the layout then edit from there into the CHR bank but I guess not, right now I'm doing arduous CHR editing + hex editing the drawing routines (title screen isn't stored as one large name table)
Maybe the guys on NESdev would know. They seem pretty knowledgeable on that kind of stuff. Only game I've ever hacked is Super Mario World lol.
Is NES 6502 assembly similar to 80386 assembly? If it is I wouldn't mind finishing up the Oregon Trail port.
I finished the title screen translation for Takeshi's Castle, along with menu options. Need to still adjust the translation on a few scriipt strings as well as two level names. Also there's some tile probs on the multiplayer name entry, need to correct

I finished up the translation, I would be surprised if it works at all with a powerpad though, probably won't work on a NES until ENIO is out and you add a famitrainer pad
Final Fantasy 3
Mother
Tower of Babel, though I much prefer the PS1 remake
Lagrange Point
Wai Wai World 1
I'm working on another translation, legend of the river king
I'm doing a cart release. It only supports the Family Trainer, I'm trying to see if powerpad support can be hacked in but not sure if it will happen, as such it only currently works with a famicom, or an NES + ENIO setup

without Power Pad support the game has a pretty niche target base, since like I said you have to eitehr play it on a Famicom with Family Trainer, or an NES+ENIO w/ Family Trainer. The devices are completely incompatible in how they communicate
Someone already mentioned Battle City, Nuts & Milk. They were quite good.
My favourite I believe JAP only games are:
Mitsume ga Tooru
Kaiketsu Yancha Maru 3 - Taiketsu! Zouringen
Yeah, Battle City and Nuts & Milk are great games. Straightforward but a lot of fun. I'll check out those other games as well, thanks!
So far, I've made the following games (and I have more on the list!)
Super Mario Brothers 2j
Recca
Moai Kun
Nuts & Milk
Battle City
Mother
Sweet Home
Adventure Island IV
So far, it's going pretty well! Those games seem to work without any problems. My only issue is with Final Fantasy II. The game starts up, and the title screen looks fine, but the sound gets distorted. When I reset it, the game menu comes up, but then it flips out when I try to name the characters. It works fine in Nintendulator, so I think it's okay, but I'm not 100% sure, as emulators are imperfect. It's the "[En by Demiforce v1.03] [Bug+Title Fixes by Parasyte v1.0] (Weapon-Magic Exploit Fix)" version. Does anyone have any experience burning this specific game? The chip checks out fine in the verifier.
Thanks!
