The best 8-bit lightgun experience can be achieved by using a Famicom Gun! This thing is fucking BADASS!!

Sure, it looks great and classy (especially compared with the US/EU zapper), but what you can't see on the picture is that the insides are MECHANICAL and WORKING.

You can actually pull back the hammer and it'll stay there until you pull the trigger... then it makes a loud *clack* sound, not just the *click* from the trigger like all the other lightguns. You can also "empty" the whole "cylinder" by holding back the hammer and pulling the trigger repeatedly.. like a real wild west gun.

I got this baby last month in the mail and I played Wild Gunman for hours every day for days. Haven't been this hooked to a lightgun game since House of the Dead 2, and this one is 15 years older and doesn't even have any variation in the settings.
<- can someone please make this as a repro and sell it so me?

Good luck selling anything like that here in the States. Bunch of pansies actually think video games cause people to be violent.

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.

That's my favorite Wii shooter and a great addition to the HOTD franchise.

Old school wise, both Crypt Killer & Maximum Force are fun...at the right price.

I have it, it's basically a port of Xbox HOTD 3 since that included 2 as a bonus. It's a nice port though, with the console mode extras of 2 intact, and you can also calibrate your Wiimote to work by pointing at the screen instead of at the sensor. Another nice Wii "light gun" game you should check out if you can get it for cheap is Ghost Squad.

I have fond memories of Project Horned Owl on PSX. Although I beat the game using a controller of all things.

I have that same combination gun as the OP, bought it in the US but it was made by another manufacturer (Nuby?). Has a long red LED line that you can set to flash when it fires.

The PS1 had a lot of great lightgun games, and several of them supported both the Guncon and the standard Justifier-type gun. Elemental Gearbolt was cool, as was the Japanese Simple Series: The Gun Shooting titles, the Lethal Enforcers double pack, and the so-bad-it's-good Japan-only Guntu: Western Front 1944.

It was touched upon but not fully explained before; a few of the PS2 shooters support both the Guncon 2 and the regular PS1 Guncon. I don't remember which one's off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure the Vampire/horror title by Namco/Sega used it and possibly the Ninja-themed one. I hooked mine up and tried a few of them just for shits and grins and was surprised to find it worked. Can't remember if it worked for the Dino Crisis one.

I built my arcade machine around light gun support: brand new pair of Happs arcade guns, an LCD Top Gun, an Xbox Silent Scope rifle, a PS2 Time Crisis pedal... Loved it for a while, but then carpal tunnel set in. Now, I just wish I could sell it.
    PouncingKitten Games
Xbox 360 - Glide, Bingo Party, Poker Night, O.C.D.
    Flash - BunnyRun, Tic-Tac-Poker

I love lightgun games, I own and have owned a few Wii / PS3 move gun games and in comparison using pointing devices is utter shit, gotta have an actual gun, no add ons that look like guns, an actual light gun.
