    SD2SNES Problem (Black Screen)

I finally got around to trying out my shiny new SD2SNES cart and I can't get it to work! I formatted the 8GB SD cart (FAT) and put the sd2snes firmware folder on the card as instructed and nothing happens. I just get a black screen and a solid orange light. Some other light may be flashing now and then behind it, but the main one stays solid orange. Any ideas?

    Some more details:

I'm using a Transcend 8GB SD HC Class 6 card
    I'm using Windows 7 64-Bit
I'm formatting the card as FAT 32 with a Default allocation size (no idea what it should be). I'm using the full format, not the quick format.

When on turn on the SD2SNES without a SD card in it, I don't get any error message. This leads me to believe that it's not being flashed, so my best guess is that it's not reading my SD card for some reason. I tried a different card (a Kodak one) and it also did not work.

How do the LEDs behave when you switch it on without a card?

An odd development. I decided to put not only the sd2snes folder on the card but all my roms as well. Now the lights blink for a bit and then they all go out and I still have a black screen. What on earth could this mean?

Sounds like it is creating and storing the file database on card and trying to boot the menu. As nothing comes up on the screen I guess either FPGA<->memory or SNES<->FPGA communication is faulty. I suspect a hardware fault.

do have a Region MOD on your snes ?
i know that the old (&bad) method don't works with sd2snes (link pin 10&1 of the F411/413)

In that case all 3 LEDs should be flashing though. Thanks for reminding me of it anyway, I need to come up with a solution for that... ;)

    Nope, it's a stock SNES

Ok, I'll send a note off to Krikzz then. I dont suppose there's any way to check this before sending it back is there?
