Portable, handheld... Barcode battler? Not,but CODE BATTLER,were you need to use CODE NUMBERS. Yes: random number combinations will create specific warriors for you and specific attacks. So same as barcode battlers but with numbers , not with barcodes (in fact, the same concept... bars are numbers on a barcode)
You can play alone or play against other player because device has IR port. And of course it is a CALCULATOR. Who did it? SEGA DID IT!!!

Wow 1994! As if Sega didn't have enough on its plate around this time. I was going to guess 1980s.
It was probably just lending its name to this though, since this is such an obscure system no one has ever heard of before.

-Mhh..each unit comes with a card with some numeric codes. Not only numbers, the character "-" is valid, so a code may be ----2---- or 343----- or 121212121 . The card has your UNIQUE ID number, and space to fill with some codes. So, it works similar to a barcode battler. Instead of passing a barcode trough a barcode reader, you enter a numeric code and try to guess what it does. If it works you take note.Originally Posted by wheelaa

WHat i know is game is turn based RPG, with ATTACK-DEFENSE points, and items, etc. As long i know (just playing with it) you can name your own warriors and save them. The characters get experience in battle. So believe me is very similar to EPOCH BARCODE BATTLER, just without a barcode reader. If this handheld included a barcode reader instead of calculator num board , you get a barcode battler with same turn based style.
Is very strange. Of course it is not the Sega´s only infrared numeric system. The SEGA IR 9000 is an electronic agenda, calculator a messaging system by SEGA and includes a very very simple fight game,but only one character and not so cool. Fighters are just kids, not warriors.

Sega make shit loads of toys like this. These days they use the Sega Toys name but back in the 80s and 90s they didn't.
