    DragonMinded's Collection

I've been lurking here for awhile now so I figured it was time to post my collection. I was an avid console collector for awhile and I was concentrating on breadth over depth. Awhile back I got more into arcade collecting, so my collection is a hodge-podge of both.

First off, my marquee collection. I'm big into music games, especially the Bemani series:

The laserdisc isn't a marquee, but its a movie disc out of a Dragon's Lair arcade. Unfortunately I don't have anything else from it.

Many of my classic marquees are in the garage where I keep some of my arcade games.

Next up is my arcade games. I've been collecting these for just over two years now and I am very proud of what I've got.

The first cabinet I got was this Neo Geo 4 slot. It still gets an awful lot of play! Current games are Blazing Star (no marquee), Windjammers, Metal Slug 4, Magical Drop 3.

This was one of my favorite games growing up and it is quite nice to own an original cabinet.

The third cabinet added. I've wanted one for over a decade, so it was nice to finally realize the dream.

YA YA YA YA YA! I love this game even though I am no good at it. This was the fourth game I added to my collection.

Ever since playing this game at a collectors' meetup, I had to own one. My dream came true when a fellow collector offered this to me last December.

I never see this at all anymore, so when one came up for sale, I had to grab it to save. I've done a lot of restoration work to make this guy look good. This one came just days after the Warlords arcade above.

This game is one of the lesser known Konami games. It has a lot of the same songs as DDR, but lots of people say it is easier to pick up. It sure is fun. This was the last game added to my collection in April.

Here is a current shot of the garage. As you can see I've basically run out of room so I have to go back to console collecting!

Next is my boxed consoles and games collection. I've been attempting to get anything I can boxed for awhile now and my labors are beginning to pay off. Also, I included anything that has a case in this because I would consider games that don't come boxed but include a case to be 'complete.'

This is the results of my efforts to get complete games:

Lots of vintage stuff here. I'm three shy of the complete list of models for Odyssey (original, 500 and 2000) and I am on the lookout for those boxed right now.

Some of my favorites here are the Color TV Game boxed consoles, and the iQue that fellow member mikeryan helped me get.

A few more boxed consoles and Space Channel 5 Part 2 special edition box (Includes headphones and such).

Here is a mishmash of many systems all at once. Everything from Atari to CD-i to MVS to Nintendo DS has at least a few games here. All boxed, some sealed. I try not to get too much sealed stuff because I want to play the games I buy.

I have been working hard on trying to full set the Fairchild as it is a fairly unique system (first external memory system). I'm several carts shy but as you can see I've already collected a few of the rare ones!

Modern system games, 32X and import music games.

Various games for GCN, Playstation, Saturn and DC.

Lastly (for now), I have a lot of loose consoles, accessories, controllers and games. Much of this was bought before I got serious and started looking for boxed copies, and some of it is in less than stellar condition. I think everyone goes through a period where they aren't that careful buying because they are new at it.

    My loose games and consoles:

My current setup. Everything is hooked up and ready to play that you see here. I keep a standard CRT because almost everything old looks better on it. Also, it has component in so the Xbox 360 is okay.

These are basically all of my loose handhelds that I own. I am always looking for more!

I started collecting X-Band because I thought the technology behind it was interesting. They also make for a good conversation-starter.

My collection of non-standard controllers. If it isn't the bundled-in controller, I hope to have one.

Many more loose consoles, including the Omega Entertainment System, a consolized MVS my friend has been producing for awhile. I was impressed with the handiwork so much that I bought one, even though I have an MVS arcade cabinet.

More loose consoles, games and accessories.

My shelves of loose carts, ending with my MVS collection. A few games are on loan to a friend now, so they are not shown!

I hope you enjoyed a view of the collecting I've done on and off since 2004. I enjoyed finding these games and systems! Hopefully I can post again when I find more!

What they said, really great looking set up. Love those marquees. Do you collect other arcade materials - flyers, instruction cards and such?

Would love a 'cab room'. Next house I buy for sure!

I have instructions cards from a few MVS games but that's about it. I mostly collect the marquees because they look really nice on the wall. Flyers and stuff would be cool but I need to concentrate on collecting only so many things.

Very awesome collection! Warlords is a great game. I played it for the first time last December as well.

Came back from a trip to the east coast with a few more items to add to the collection:

Also, another fortunate find by a friend. Now I have three IIDX marquees:

Yeah, it's one of my favorite systems right now. I love how I can swap modules to play multiple systems without re-attaching power/video/audio cables. Its too bad no other consoles had a LaserActive "port."

    Also, new marquees found today:
