Can't flash everdrive on 32X

When I use my 32X, I am unable to properly flash a game on my Everdrive.. I get a sel error 50.. Without the 32X it works fine.. Nether console are modified and are screwdriver virgins.. All american systems too, HD graphics model 1 with a VA3 motherboard, and a 32X of unknown revision.

Games play fine on the Everdrive via the 32X, they run great, but it's when I want to flash a new game I run into these problems.. OS v34 and latest firmware.

Could have sworn this worked before, because I faintly remember doing this already in the past.

Already on.

I actually found the issue. I had my sega cd attached with no power cord. Apparently if the cd is attached with no power cord with a 32x you get this error. Disconnect cd or give it power and the issue goes away.
