BUY IT...the Tiki God demands it
I never understood well the gameplay of NiGHTS. I always skip that game when I watch Retrocade, sorry :P
Maybe it's time to finally pick it up.
Insert stupid poem here.
I remember playing the ps2 import version of Nights and having to watch a few youtube videos to get as sense of what to do and how to get C and above rankings. Besides the loops its not too clear what to do. Back in the day they had manuals for that kind of thing.
Also did anyone else enjoy the Wii sequel? I know people hate on it but I really enjoyed it. I played it using the gamecube controller and thought it was stylishly done. The gameplay is abit different and its more mission based (chase after the creature and get the key etc).
NEVER SPEAK OF THE WII SEQUEL. It was nothing like the first game. NOTHING it does not exist.
I'm hoping for a real Sequel to nights that's just more of the first game
Playing the game will actually teach you how to do that. It's simple - first, defeat the container as fast as possible by bringing 20 chips to it. Once it's destroyed, all points given are doubled. Once its defeated, keep flying the course over and over again until you don't have enough time to enter the little NiGHTS chamber to proceede to the next course. You don't have to end your run just because you have the ideya, you can simply fly over the chamber to keep going.
From the moment you defeat the container, your goal should be obvious - gain as huge of a link as possible. it's actually possible to run every course in the game from start to finish as a single link if you get good enough. If you're really good, you can keep a link going over several laps across the stage. Once you have 200+ links all at double score, it's easy to get A rankings.
After you've gained a great base score and you're ready to fight the boss, you're still not done. The faster and more efficient your boss run is, the higher the multiplier you get at the end of the stage, from 1 all the way to 2 (although I've never got a 2 multiplier, the highest i've ever got is 1.8). Your score is multipled by this multiplier at the end of the level, letting you get some astronomical scores if you're good enough.
NiGHTS is the perfect kind of game for online leader boards, because as you improve, merely getting A's across all courses becomes no challenge at all.
I already have the Saturn versions of both Nights and Christmas Nights, so I don't really see much of a reason to buy this. I think my money would be better spent on a new Saturn controller if anything.
I have NIGHTS on Saturn PS2 and XBLA... your argument is invalid
I never understood the appeal of NiGHTS into Dreams at all. It was boring. The only reason I enoyed Christmas NiGHTS was because the game was limited in length, as is the nature of a demo.
I also owned NiGHTs a Journey into Dreams for the Wii. It didn't seem any better or worse and to be frank it was just as boring except I was forced to use the wiimote / motion capture controls.
I have been keeping an eye on Steam for the game to make an apearance. I may pick it up and give it a second look, but don't hold your breath.
