Play more games, enjoy playing emulators with nothing full speed more advanced than the NES. More games.
They're VMUs. Not "LCD memory cards".

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.
I'd say play through the Shenmue saga, then become a Shenmue III activist (this will come naturally).

get a vga cable ($15)& hook the thing up to your hdtv, it looks 10 times better

Better off spending $30 to have one internalized. They're a tight fit but once you have it done you'll not need to worry about video again. The only problem I've had installing them is finding a spot on the back to fit the VGA connector. Might help if I sourced some low profile VGA connectors.

indeed they seem to have gone up a bit, I remember seeing vga cables for dreamcast for 10 to 15 on ebay on a regular basis like 2 years ago. be that as it may, my point is: even if it costs a little more now, its an essential piece of hardware for the dreamcast imo

These are expensive but high quality: https://www.facebook.com/Cabous.Drea...GA.cables/info
And here's the schematics for this cable: http://imageshack.us/f/91/rgbvgamod5yd.jpg/
One of the simplest design I think, the price of the cable he offers is explained by the quality of the crafting and the shipping. Life-time warranty. Though if you want to make one yourself it's not that hard, you could also make it internal, but beware of RF radiations (don't run cables too close of the power supply).

I just picked dc up myself for $15 :P (killed my last one and never fixed it lol) been using s-video but vga is a good idea.
Kinda been hesitant about modding it just yet.. but I'll probably give in and do a reset mod at least. I use these small buttons I've pulled from dvd player faces and tuck them in that hole.. opposite the extension port side of the console under the psu. Totally stealthy low rider style ;D

House Of The Dead + VGA Adapter + VGA CRT Monitor + Lightgun
Yes the light does work with a VGA CRT monitor! This beats the newer Wii version, the lightgun can be set to Autofire and Auto Reload. Machine gun the Zombies.
REZ + Puru Pack
A Rail shooter that adds to the music as you shoot. The Puru pack really shakes the controller to the beat.
