Actually, just using the phrase ultra gay is childish but hey, maybe the member is young. Most of the trendy stuff on the internet is a load of crap to me and I hate internet trends such as those ugly looking old man line drawn faces that seem to be everywhere. They look like The Mask (the movie) after being left out in the sun for a week.

Did you ever consider that your friend "Itchy" may know many bands/groups/producers you have never heard of? Personally I know a total of 1 R.E.M. songs. According to wikipedia R.E.M. released Losing my Religion in 1991. Was Itchy even born then? They also apparently split in 2011. Maybe I have been living under a rock, but I never remembered it being mentioned. Perhaps the average person just doesn't care about this particular group anymore, though I assume you still very much do.
If you lived through the 90s in the US, you've probably heard at least one R.E.M. song on the radio or in a movie. It's one of those things you couldn't really miss even if you tried.
