Dumb question about Paypal and E-Bay

I have a really dumb question. I won an auction for an item for $20 (US) shipped, but when I got the game it wasn't the right one. I got a game that is worth a lot more, at least I think it's worth more then the $20 I paid.
I tried to contact the seller about it, but I haven't hear from it for 2 weeks now.

Here is the question: Can this guy come after me though E-bay or Paypal about this? I think about to answer my own question here, I don't think he can because I paid for the item and it's not my fault that he shipped the wrong game. Don't get wrong, if the seller tells me to send it back I will on his dime of course. :/

Basically, no. He can probably file a claim, but you've tried for 2 weeks. His fault. Sell the game and get the one you want.

How drastic was the difference? If the seller cared enough, he'd have contacted YOU. The only problem I can see is if somebody else purchased the more expensive game you ended up with, and instead got something worth $20, but since that hasn't happened yet, it's probably not an issue.

The game goes on E-bay around $50-$60 (US) give or take when the auction ends it seems. I seen it go as low as $30 but normally it like $50. As for selling, it's a title I want so if he doesn't want it, I just keep it for my own collection.

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.

How can he prove he sent you the wrong game (if you hadnt of said anything)?

Ebay wouldnt make you send back your item, the seller could just have changed his mind.

    Nothing to worry about.

Well the guy finally got back to me, he wants it back. It seems that he sold that in another auction and the guy is asking where is his game. The game is Lunar 1 for the SEGA-CD with the word 'Lunar' (there are some runs where it's not in foil) in foil, no scratches, no tears or bends in the manual and, even comes with the sponge holder. Not saying that it is the original space holder, most of the SEGA-CD games I've bought this past month have had them.

I guess if you want to be honorable, you could ask him to ship you the original game you bought and then you'll ship Lunar back to him. Make sure that he covers the return shipping cost since it's his mistake.

Ship it back, would just generally be a nice thing to do, unsure of legal obligation. Make him pay the return shipping though.

I plan on shipping it back to him if he asks. Like I said it would have to be on his dime to do so, not mine.
