Xbox hdd REALLY slow and laggy

k well i went to the swap meet today and picked up an 80gb ide hdd for $5 and a 250gb hdd for $5.

the 80gb works great. im transferring games over now on it, but the 250gb is very slow and laggy. i used chimp for both and it seemed to clone fine

is there anything i can do for the 250gb or is it just a faulty drive?

really dont care since it was $5 haha

Dying drive? From my experiences a dying drive always runs slow just before it goes.
Especially if you bought it second hand. I try and avoid second hand drives as you'll never be able to tell when the end of it's life will be...

okay i switched evox dash with unleash x and that will run perfectly. no lag or anything and i was able to format those partitions.

only problem is i cant get an FTP connection at all. it wasn't from formatting the partitions or anything, just when i use this drive. i was able to with the other one no problem.

any ideas? i really wanna use this 250gb lol

Edit: i could be the biggest dumbass there is ahaha
