While searching online for ways to make a multibootable USB drive, I came across this thing: http://www.zalman.com/ENG/product/Pr...ad.asp?idx=431 This thing is a virtual drive device. You put a standard 2.5" SATA HDD in it and load ISO images onto it. There's a scroll wheel on the side to select the different images for a computer to load as though they were in a real optical drive. MY thought was this could be useful for console that need an optical drive emulator. The drive emulator could be simplified to load only one image at a time and use this virtual drive to select which image to load up. The drive emulator would just simply need to allow for the firmware of the device to be accepted. This could be good for say an Xbox that a user wants to delete the DVD drive off of but not get banned from Xbox Live. A small mod to the Xbox firmware that is made to be undetectable could do this. Then it is plug and play since the virtual drive has SATA connection too.
