Putting together a machine for old school gaming and for use of tools flat out not compatible with modern hardware. Already have a 1.4ghz Pentium III-S on the way to replace the 1.4ghz Celeron (for $8 how could I say no?).
The current machine is an older Dell box that actually sports a pretty good mobo and feature set. But it is a half-height case and as such as I need a half-height video card. The AGP slot is probably 4x but most 8x cards were backward compatible, I'll eyeball the slot later to see if it is keyed to disallow anything.
I've found some cards based off the nVidia Geforce FX 5200 line but unless I want somewhat more accurate n64 video emulation I'm not too interested in a junker card. I can't seem to find much beyond that but if anyone knew of something comparable to the 9800 XT or 6800GT I'd be thrilled.
Or pending all else fails, a high end Socket 370 mobo with ISA and AGP slots that supports 133mhz FSB with a great deal of RAM slots.
