Thread: Should I upgrade to OS12?

    Snes2 Should I upgrade to OS12?

I have been enjoying my super everdrive for a year or so now, and have not been keeping up with software updates. For a long time now, my device has been set at (OS v 9) with (firmware v 3). But before doing it I want to make sure by asking first what I've missed over the last year and a half. I noticed there was a new super everdrive made. Seeing as I have the previous one (DSP chipped), would it be a good idea for me to update to os12? Last time I did an update, half my game library disappeared and I had to reformat the whole card again, then look all over my house for the harddrive with the roms.

I would like to know whats in this update? Anything I should care about? My everdrive works just fine as is.

There was no new Super EverDrive made. If you have one that supports DSP-1 chip then you have latest one. There were a couple PCB revisions, but they did not affect functionality. Maybe you are referring to SD2SNES? SD2SNES has nothing in common with Super EverDrive besides that they are both flash carts for the SNES/SFC. SD2SNES isn't even developed by KRIKzz and its also way more expensive.

    Updates from 9 to 11:

    1)FAT32 suppot2)SDHC support3)faster flashing4)new save system5)long names scrolling by X/Y buttons6)a lot of small bugs were fixed

Right, you mentioned 9 to 11, but concerning v12, is that safe for me to use? Any change in that update different from 11?

On Krikzz site there are any informations about OS 11 and 12. What they change? Should I upgrade from 11 (PCB v1.3) to 12?
