The ultimate all-in-one retro system gamestation console?

Found this link on Hackaday: http://www.made-by-bacteria.com/view...php?f=18&t=308 This guy is modding 20 (yes 20) different consoles into one ultimate gamestation with 1 master controller for them all. It includes but is not limited to: PS2, Sega Master System and Megadrive (must be European), Game Cube, Saturn, Dreamcast and many more.

EDIT: Yup, European. he's in UK.

Some random guy on this modding website I used to go on was planning on doing something like this. I see no point, as everything can be emulated by a good computer system, minus X360 and PS3.

Computer emulating just isn't the same as having the real hardware. Emulators can get it "perfectly" but it is in fact NOT perfect. There's no replacement for the real hardware except maybe hardware emulation like the Radica 6 in 1 things. They are a hardware level emulation of the Sega Genesis and they still don't get it completely right. So no replacement for the real hardware.

I'm wondering how big this is going to be. The size of a desktop computer, with the cart slots lining the top?

It's gonna be huge. Like 3 foot tall by 1.5 foot wide by 3 foot deep sort of big. Each system is on a board that slides out from the side to access the cart slot or CD drive.

If this is going to be this big, why don't release it as a console and not as a portable?

I sure hope Bacteria is using NTSC settings for anything under Dreamcast / PS2 generation. PAL consoles of the 80's and 90's were just plain shit. Well, the Mega Drive wasn't as bad since the boarders on that changed colour with the games main background.

By the way, you do know that Bacteria posts a lot about his projects right here on ASSEMblergames.

It is a console, not a portable. 7Force was comparing it to the unreleased Action Gamemaster. That or making fun of it.

BSNES is arguably as close to the same as real hardware as youll ever get, shame other systems dont have such a dedicated emulation setup
