PS3 FAT (CECHC02) disc eject problems and HDMI black screen

    Hello all

I have been given a PS3 FAT (CECHC02) to look at.

I was told it had disc reading problem as in wouldn't read any disc. So me being stupid bought a replacement laser and sled. I used AV cord on my old "testing consoles TV" starts up with the warning it hadn't been shut down properly, no worries let it do it's thing.

Re-starts ok, already has a game in it, so play it for about 15mins, no worries. Tried DVD movie, no worries, tried Blue Ray movie no worries (why did I buy that laser!?).

    Problem 1/
Anyway, if i eject the disc without exiting to the main menu (ie simply hit eject) the TV screen goes blank and I have to restart the console. Has anyone seen this?

    Problem 2/
I moved the console to check it out on my lounge room TV (has PS3 slim and XBOX360slim connected via HDMI). I can't get this PS3 FAT to work via HDMI! I tried the reset trick which as far as I have read is hold the power on button past the first "beep" up to the 2nd "beep" then let go. This doesn't work, only got shitty composite as I don't have component leads for this.

The console looks a bit dusty, not sure if this would cause problems? I don't really spend to much time on it as it has already cost me 2hrs as well as money buying a replacement laser (boy am I pissed at that one).

If anyone has any idea what the go is, please offer advise.

    Cheers Pete

    Thank you for your reply

1/Screen stays blank (would stay blank forever I guess)

2/I updated to the latest firmware 4.11 as I thought that may solve the issue...... nope

Ah I should add that the TV knows something there as the indicator on the TV has the arrow to show something is plugged in. TV in question is a Sony 40XBR.

Sound like to me the gpu needs to be reflow or reballed . That the only reason I can think of .
