Project: Substantial Summer

The mood in the air seems good, so I will propose an idea I have kicking around.

I am proposing we try and make a large amount of new info, data and betas
available this summer.

Game design docs, tech docs, etcetera.

I am also kicking around an idea of a pressed double sided dvd of all the dev tools
available (abandonware) , beta roms and other betas and use it to to kick off the
Gunpei Yokoi memorial fund.

I will begin with what ghost project will release this summer:

Geist Force

And what I can contribute:

Several acclaim betas
Several other betas
Game design documents
Scans of source graphics for dreamcast discs
Original vector graphics for dreamcast and N64 box production factory

Can we get any more commitments? I would like to see a dozen people on
board for this before I do anything.

I don't own any really rare promo stuff that I can make public but I do own pretty much every Japanese Saturn Magazine demo disc. Some of them feature beta builds of games. I could make some of them available if that's of any interest. I also have 2 builds of a Dreamcast homebrew shooter that was never completed (for Dreamcast) that I should be able to release. I spoke to the developer of it about a release last year.

As of yet I own nothing that I would think worth contributing to this that I already haven't put out there.

Then again Dream_TR always has something worth buying and dumping even if it only has debug enabled.

I don't think I have anything to contribute, but if you need help with the DVD cover art or anything like that, I'd be glad to help :) Can't wait to see those vector graphics and game design documents, I would have use for them in the future!

Nope, I don't mean Drill. Drill was released publicly. The one I have was not.

I'm on for this project, sadly I sold a bunch of DC Beta GD-Rs this year so I can't really contribute with material as of now

I have a Rayman Arena NR beta that I have been trying to get dumped for a while, along with a few other less interesting discs.

If a trustworthy member with the ability to dump these NR discs sends me a PM, I would like to work something out.

I don't have anything like unreleased games, betas etc but I do have a complete collection of UK Dreamcast magazines (all issues of every publication) Many have screen shots and editorial about future releases that eventually never came out.

I could scan the articles and provide them if that sort of thing is of any use? or is it just video, games and tech docs that are the order of the day?

Just please let me know if these are something that could be used and I will crack on with the scanning sooner rather than later.

If not I plan on doing it for each entire issue anyway (not sure when I will start but I will eventually!) so there is an online digital archive of contemporary UK DC reviews, previews etc.
