Tokyo Game Show 2012

Hi,
I've never been to Japan and am a bit of a newbie on the whole Tokyo Game Show but really want to go and hopefully planning a trip to Tokyo this year and defo want to go to the show. Does anyone know when tickets go on sale and how I can book tickets in advance? The official site seems to have zero information on public tickets unless I'm missing something!

I dont have any useful information to give you but me and my wife are actually planning a trip to Japan for next year and I just wanted to say what a cool idea that is. Im just as interested as you are now in seeing if anyone has any answers because Id like to buy some too.

Can buy tickets to the Tokyo Game Show online when the site goes up. That's how I got mine. However I went on a trade day using my site as a company name. No doubt they're check the site but they never asked me to prove it was my site. Going on a trade day is better than an open public day too. More chance to play on the new stuff.

I did the same thing back in 2005. Visited the TGS with a press ticket.

Much better when yuo want to check on the new games without having to wait like crazy.

Also gave me the chance to visit SNK :D

I went on a trade day WAY back in the day (2001 I think). Still kinda crowded but better than the fuck-fest that's Saturday and Sunday.

Well one day i visit japan, when tgs open. Hope you have than some ticked for me ^^

Have had friends who have gone without buying tickets in advance, just be prepared to wait in line a lot.

Is it usually a sell out or do a fair amount of people who turn up without tickets get in?

I wouldn't recommend going if you plan on playing lots of demos or buy limited edition goods. You'll be waiting more in line than anything else and it's much worse than any E3.

I've been to Condomania in Shibuya and they had Sesame Street-themed condoms which was very disturbing.
